Fair 'nough. Just really find it hard to muster any sympathy for them, even if some of them are "kids".

I understand, and I hate them for their racist attitudes. I just don't like mob rule stifling freedom of speech.

Thing is, social taboos like overt racism aren't always enforced in the most "clean" ways. There are certainly avenues for expressing racist opinions, both IRL and online, but IMO they should not be in the "public" spheres. For example, if one were to go around yelling racist shit in a crowded public area, he'd likely get punched by someone who didn't take kindly to it. Isn't necessarily the "right" reason for a racist to shut his mouth, but it gives him the indication that public perception is not in his favor. Similarly, if people on the internet's most public forum of social media are feeling similarly deterred from brazenly disseminating their hate through these shaming practices, then the same end of shunning an intolerable idea might be achieved even through the "wrong" means.

Freedom of speech, as defined by U.S. constitutional law, is not the freedom to say what you want without the adherence to possible consequences thereafter but to be able to say things that are controversial (depending on what context) and not be tried or convicted of a crime or misdemeanor by any branch of the law. If you say racist things on some publicly accessible sphere of the Internet, it is not a violation of your free speech freedom to have someone criticize you for doing racist things.

No, and I wasn't saying that they shouldn't suffer the consequences, my point was this sort of public shaming usually creates some form of mob retaliation, so in my opinion it's counter-productive (and it stifles free speech). Anyway, that's all.

    Republicans Are Assholes
    Quote
On the final day of the Bush presidency 34% of the population of the USA thought that George W. Bush did a good job and they approved. That is a mind bogglingly large number of people to support a president who was seemingly equal parts asshole-fratboy, fake cowboy, and irritating born again Jesus freak. Past the ad hominem and on to quantifiable performance; the guy literally fucked up everything he touched save for coming though at the very end and helping to save the banks from failure. After a whole game of fuckups making a half court Hail Mary at the buzzer doesn’t absolve you.

    For a little perspective lets go over just a few of many Bush fuck-ups;

Received a memo titled “Bin Ladin Determined To Strike in US” in August http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bin_Laden_Determined_to_Strike_in_U.S.

In September Bin Ladin did strike. In an amazing display of decisive leadership W sat for more than seven minutes reading “The Pet Goat” to schoolkids while the WTC towers burned. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pet_Goat

Then in classic knee jerk reactionary bully style he picks the country that no one likes and can’t fight back and invades them because “they might attack us first.” As it turns out all of the initial justifications for invading the country turn out to be lies and distortions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003_invasion_of_Iraq

Once invaded virtually none of the assumptions; “we will be greeted as liberators”, “the profits from the sale of oil will pay for the war”, “mission accomplished”, etc. turned out to be correct.

When the rest of the world expressed their disgust at Bush leading up an invasion of another country based on a pack of lies Bush figuratively flipped them all the bird.

He was an Andover cheerleader; http://politicalhumor.about.com/library/images/blbushcheerleader.htm and Yale fratboy. Disgusting.

He reduced the tax rate of the multi-millionaires that move money around for a living to 15% while a working person earning a fraction of that income actually providing a service or producing something pays double; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capital_gains_tax_in_the_United_States

Listening to Bush use the English language is akin to watching a drunk epileptic cross an ice covered intersection at night. The dumbest person I know speaks better than Bush. He is a national disgrace.

I could go on for a week about Bush disasters. You could write a book on New Orleans and The Great Recession alone… I know you morons that listen to propaganda on AM radio 12 hours a day are going to call me a latte sipping liberal. To you; fuck you and all of your brainwashed friends. Calling Bush a failure isn’t partisan it’s realism. It’s not left or right. It’s fucking common sense.

The easy way out is to assume that the 60 million people that think Bush did a great job are just fucking idiots. It can’t be the case. There are a lot of morons in the country but 60 million? Just look at how many iPhone apps that Apple has sold in the last year… or how many sets of testicles that you’ve seen on truck trailer hitches. Or the sheer volume of people on Twitter a virtual festival of drooling dumb-fucks. To assign the label of stupidity is to absolve them from their sins.

And it goes on, wonderfully. Cheesy

    I thought this was nice.

Justin Kievit, a middle-school wrestler from Tennessee, showed off his sportsmanship when he matched up against Jared Stevens, who has cerebral palsy.
The match, which was taped and posted to Facebook by Kievit's father and to YouTube by Stevens' dad, begins with Stevens being gently laid down on the wrestling mat by a coach. Once the match begins, Kievit maneuvers around Stevens in a low crouch. Kievit then gets down on the mat and slides underneath Stevens so Stevens can pin him. The crowd went wild for Stevens' win and Kievit's heart.
According to Kievit's father, the act wasn't planned. The proud dad remarked to Franklin Home Page: "The first time he met Jared was when he shook hands with him before the match. So it really was spontaneous. They just picked this kid. If you watch the video, he just did an amazing job. There's not many adults comfortable putting hands on a disabled kid, much less another 13-year-old."
[Related: Montana wrestler volunteers a loss so opponent can win first career bout on senior night]
This was Jared's first wresting match. "I think a lot of people are scared to put kids like me on the mat, but they don't need to be," Jared told his local paper. Jared's father explained that while his son has roughly the physical capacity of a six-month-old, he is close to his age level intellectually.
"Jared just likes to do stuff like everybody else," his father told the Franklin Home Page. "There's a limit to what he can do, but something like wrestling, he can do that as much as he can do. He just enjoys being out there participating. He doesn't mind trying anything."

They blamed the last election on ACORN as well,  with little to no idea of what ACORN actually used to do. What a shame that slimebag Breitbart killed ACORN with his dishonesty just for his own entertainment.

“Romney wanders in a daze, his hair not perfectly gelled. And his campaign advisers continue to express astonishment that a disastrous campaign, convention and candidate, as well as a lack of familiarity with what Stevens dismissively calls “whiz-bang turnout technologies,” could possibly lead to defeat. Who would ever have thought blacks would get out and support the first black president? Who would ever have thought women would shy away from the party of transvaginal probes? Who would ever have thought gays would work against a party that treated them as immoral and subhuman? Who would have ever thought young people would desert a party that ignored science and hectored on social issues? Who would ever have thought Latinos would scorn a party that expected them to finish up their chores and self-deport?”

Predator drones work. That is to say, it's the best we can do to minimize risk and civilian casualties, while meeting the necessary objectives.
