Is it possible to see this through a different angle. I am not sure if it works though, can't think like a bisexual lol. Say it was rampant chemical-filled heterosexuals who were at the pinnacle of the fashion world. Then say they were using men as models to sell clothes to women. How long before there would be a cavalcade of shemale(ish)men strutting their stuff down the catwalk?
But is this scenario feasible? If the only thing that makes it unfeasible is the mention of drugs, then it does have some legs. You do know the fashion industry is renowned for cocaine use.
Oops, wasn't meant to be questioning/answering my own thoughts. It was meant for you osmanthus.
Look, I don't have a problem with the assertion that some designers would prefer models to look like boys. Never have had a problem with that. I wouldn't even have a problem with the assertion that at least one (currently unidentified) designer might be both gay and a raging paedophile. It's quite likely one does exist somewhere in the fashion world. I fail to see how that would reflect on all the others though.
Even if some designers want models to look like boys, that still doesn't explain the push towards anorexic models. Neither does evolutionary theory, since anorexia is very unhealthy and is recognised as such by anyone who isn't anorexic. I doubt there are many people, gay or straight, male or female, who get the hots over anorexia.
My whole case is that because gay designers want models tohave the bodies of boys/adolescent youth/young men etc that we have the problem with anorexia. Hardly any women can maintain a body mass index of 18 (the minimum allowed by some of the fashion industry), which is what a tall woman needs to look defeminised — without abusing their body. I think there will be some models who eat healthily and have a BMI of 18 but there are others who have died trying. The designers are building clothes around their fantasies.. and their fantasy is beautiful teenage boys/youth/young men.
And I mentioned evolutionary theory because men are hard-wired to seek youth. And the only way to get tall models found on the catwalk to resemble the bodies of teenage boys/youth (14-19 say) is for them to be skinny which raises the ugly head of anorexia.
Ultimately it is a designer’s choice of who is cast in seasonal runway shows and in the advertising campaigns their fans scrutinize. So selecting models who appear fit, healthy, and strong would undoubtedly set a precedent. Especially if the precedent is set by the brilliant ga designers at the top of their industry.
I still think that something else is going on here.
Any ideas ? - imo you strip away everything else, what you are left with is sexuality/libido.
