  • Is it possible to hide certain user avatars?
     OP - September 17, 2011, 10:56 PM

I like avatars. But Is it possible to selectively hide avatars of certain members? Some gif avatars not good on the eye Wink

    Little Fly, Thy summer's play
My thoughtless hand has brushed away.

I too dance and drink, and sing,
Till some blind hand shall brush my wing.

Therefore I am a happy fly,
If I live or if I die.

    Nope. It's all or nothing.

Go for it. However, it will incur a performance penalty. You don't get features like that for nothing.

If someone has a particularly annoying gif, you can always ask them to change it. We have done that before (and there are no performance penalties incurred).

    Sounds like a challenge  Smiley

Love a challenge but will have to go on the back burner...together with world domination and becoming a noble prize winning scientist and rockstar! So much to do so little time...and its time for bed!

Nite nite sweet prince and princeses....erotic dreams..... Wink

It's not a challenge. It's a fundamental limitation of how coding works. You would have to code in another check for every avatar on every page load, and that will incur a performance hit. It is for reasons like this that the software does not include some options by default.

Install adblock or any other blocking extension and selective block some avatars.
I do that often on here.

Do not look directly at the operational end of the device.

That would be a better solution. Saves anyone else having to carry the penalty.
