Thanks Najia. I have decided to just ride along and wait and see. My hubby now knows how I feel (still he buys me islamic books Smiley He is so gentle I know we won't fight over it however I care about how my refusal will affect him and how he, who cares so much about his image, will be ashamed and how everyone will insinuate to him "that's what you get for marrying a non-muslim". He is a squeaky-clean, devoted model muslim son...funny how the things that charmed me about him are the same things that worry me now. I somehow trust our love for each other will work some kind of magic, but I feel awful about disappointing him, because he really cannot understand my point of view, nothing malicious, just purely religiously naïve and innocent.

my points about deism were directed to others who replied, who still felt a need for a deity after leaving Islam.  Smiley

Oh, in that case I second you on that 500%. I don't want to be harsh, because we all have our unique mental journey, but I get intrigued when I see muslims leaving islam for another religion. Like, what's the point? And as far as agnosticism is concerned, I understand it as I had to go through there for a long time before letting go, but I agree. Clinging onto a belief in a deity is a form of bondage to me. I am happy to have completely unshackled my mind...
