Hi everyone. It's me Zuber from Assam, India.

My main reason for leaving Islam is self realization after lots of research on the internet since 2005. I was never a true muslim. I never prayed five times a day but I occasionally used to attend the Friday prayers. But I always had a doubt if Allah even existed. Finally I read the book - The God Delusion, and got the final push towards atheism last year during the month of October. I would like to know your experiences too.

There is no such thing as a true Muslim. Everyone has their own interpretation of Islam.

Welcome!! Do you feel life has changed at all since coming to realise that the theistic god is not real? Have you discussed your reading and thoughts with family/friends, or would this be a bad idea?

Actually one of my friends told me about this forum
My life is completely changed now. It feels so good when you are away from superstitions and religious dogmas !
Yes I told all of my friends. In the family, I only told my mother though. She has no problems whatsoever

Is it me or does every atheist or ex-religious person have to mention Dawkins one way or another?

First of all welcome to COEM and I hope you have a fine time here with us all. Also note that creditability should not be taken when it comes to research on the internet. As you must know most of what is on there can be altered and/or edited to side with the point of view.
