So Let us jump in to another chapter., Chapter-93 Al- Duha., apparently it was revealed in Mecca and it was 11th surah.,  In Islam Allah 11th chapter equals to Chapter-93., Any way we can not blame allah for that mistake but the idiots who put Quran together should be blames.

So this 11th suarh has 11 verses.. yeehaaa.... Miracle.. and miracle..  what a coincidence.. well NOooo it must be a miracle. So let use read those 11 statements from Allah
    Quote
     093.001

I swear by the early hours of the day,
And the night when it covers with darkness.
Your Lord has not forsaken you, nor has He become displeased,
And surely what comes after is better for you than that which has gone before.
And soon will your Lord give you so that you shall be well pleased.
Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter?
And find you lost (that is, unrecognized by men) and guide (them to you)?
And find you in want and make you to be free from want?
Therefore, as for the orphan, do not oppress (him).
And as for him who asks, do not chide (him),
And as for the favor of your Lord, do announce (it).

This is a wonderful Quran. There is hardly anything wrong in it..  yes..yes..

Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter?    and , do not oppress orphan

That is a very poetic., there "He" means "Allah" and we know  who the orphan was.  That is OK being an orphan is not a  big deal., I know it is a harsh world. I used to be  a homeless boy shuttling between families of relatives., Not a big deal.    allah is there

    See this guy..

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rntM7oUeFAc

beautiful.. beautiful..  I think  that  boy sings well and I think that surah is a great Surah... .. My good wishes to him.

    Yeezy bhai,

You have hit upon what I consider to be one of the most beautiful surahs in the Qur'an. Devoid from its supernatural claims the message and context are rather endearing and heart wrenching. It's about a young man, an orphan, who feels completely lost in a world that has rejected him and he is alienated, left on the borders of society. This chapter is very revealing about how our Mo felt and why he needed Allah to exist.

But my sympathies do not last for long. Tears do run dry. Hearts harden.

Sam.. Noooooo., you are not off topic, you are within the topic and you have full freedom to correct whatever I write  Please join the thread help me out...

So we did some 180 verses but we have not written any TAFSIR on those verses., well we write tafsir for all the verses together once we finish  reading some 5% of Quran. I assure you CEMB will do better than that Syed Abul Ala Maududi

Any ways let us move on and read next chapter. which is al-Ala., it is chapter 87 in the book allegedly revealed in Mecca and has 19 verses.. But for us it is chapter-8 al-Ala ..
well those are our 19 verses of chapter-8  .. what do we have there?

    Allah knows the best...

Why did you highlight that verse?

edit: I don't know how to get multiquote, but I meant why you highlighted that one verse from the Surah? Was there some special reason?

Allah hardened his heart first when he failed to forgive Iblis, a being he once elevated above all other creations, for not wishing to bow down to another creation. Iblis was devoted to Allah and only wished to worship HIm alone and refused to prostrate to another. For this simple act of disobedience he was cursed, cast out of the Heavens and forced to suffer all of eternity in Hell. Prior to this Iblis was perfect, more so than the angels themselves, because he submitted to Allah willingly.

    .............. Iblis, ...............

jedi the Iblis..  Thread is going down the drain..

    Iblis.. Iblis.. Iblis.. Iblis..

WATCH it.,   Quran is going down the drain..

So let us go back to Quran. Let us go and read that chapter 12., that damn thing is chapter 94 in the book.. Why I ask you why Jedi??  Let us read those 8 verses..

    Quote
    094.001 to 008

Have We not expanded for you your breast,
And taken off from you your burden,
Which pressed heavily upon your back,
And exalted for you your esteem?
    Surely with difficulty is ease.
    With difficulty is surely ease.
So when you are free, nominate.
And make your Lord your exclusive object.

what is that thing? what does it mean??  what burden, what weight did Allah take away? and from whom?  and why only 8 lines.. 4 line.. 5 lines of revelations? All these Surahs until 86 surahs in the revelation order  were allegedly revealed in Mecca And we know  Khadija(ra) was alive in those 1st 10 years., Prophet of Islam  had enough financial resources to support and live life .. So what burden are we talking?? Any ways let us read next  titty-bitty surah

So let us go to chapter 13 and that is Surah-Al-Asr., These guys made that as  Surah-103 in the book .. the silly stuff has only 3 verses..

what is this 3 verses chapter? nonsense,  Can't  we this together with another chapter and make less chapters??

Except those who believe and do good, and enjoin on each other truth, and enjoin on each other patience.

O.K. too much swearing going in Quran..   swear by the time,...swear by the stars..swear by the sun.. swear by moon., whatever comes to brain we just swear on that... well that chapter 13..

well let us move on to  chapter 14 in the revelation order., It is supposed to be 100th surah in the book and that is  Al-Aadiyat with 11 verses allegedly revealed in Mecca.

    Quote
    100.001 : 005

I swear by the runners breathing pantingly,
Then those that produce fire striking,
Then those that make raids at morn,
    Then thereby raise dust,
Then rush thereby upon an assembly

    100.006 to 011
Most surely man is ungrateful to his Lord.
And most surely he is a witness of that.
And most surely he is tenacious in the love of wealth.
Does he not then know when what is in the graves is raised,
And what is in the breasts is made apparent?
Most surely their Lord that day shall be fully aware of them.

well again  we start with swearing.  Shuu,,

I swear by the runners breathing pantingly..............I  swear by  those that produce fire striking,

well that is as good as swearing by running dogs., I swear by Camels, cats and rats.  And then it goes and rants on some feudal guy in the town   with words like  "and most surely he is tenacious in the love of wealth"

who is that "He"??   Abu Lahab??

what is that thing? why do we need these swearing on dogs/cats/sun/moon/stars  in the words of Allah? God??

Err.. Mock the rascals who put this Quran together and move on..

    Quote
    108.001 to 003

Surely We have given you Kausar,
Therefore pray to your Lord and make a sacrifice.
Surely your enemy is the one who shall be without posterity,

Oookaayyy.,     "pray the lord, give sacrifices and lord gives  you more."., that is it., that is whole surah??    Pishhuu .. big deal.. any ways as this is a little one,  so let me  look in to The "Swearing problem" in  Quran .  It is a book of Swearing
    Quote
    I swear by the time,
I swear by the runners breathing pantingly,
I swear by the fig and the olive,
I swear by the early hours of the day,

    I swear by the heaven and the comer by night;
I swear by the mansions of the stars,
I swear by the sunset redness,
     I swear by the stars,
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked
I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another
I swear by the self-accusing soul.
I swear by the day of resurrection.
    I swear by the moon,
I swear by the Lord of the Easts and the Wests
I swear by that which you see,
I swear by the pen and what the angels write,
I swear by the falling of st
I swear by the star when it goes down.
    I swear by the Mountain,

All that "I swear song" is  from Quran.
All of those words are words of Allah/God?  words of Messenger? the post man??
who knows Allah knows the best.. Oh Well.,    also you can make "They Swear song" out of Quran

My tafseer teacher used to say that when allah swears by something, what comes next is of reeeaaaallll importance. And when allah swears by himself... well, that was the most important thing in the world for us to understand and know. Because, allah swore by himself, and allah is akbar, ahad, samad, rabbu al alameen! But when I went back to read the actual verses which supposedly are so important, I was underwhelmed... So allah rebukes disbelievers who all depart and "run away" from Muhammads message, and who mock him for it. This is a Makkan soorah if I remember (Soorat al Maarij), and Muhammad must have been really frustrated by the fact that most people saw him as majnoon and did not take his revelations seriously enough. So what could be more dramatic, but to swear by allah himself. Muhammad was like: "why are you not listening to me???!!!"

    Quote
So what is [the matter] with those who disbelieve, hastening [from] before you, [O Muhammad],

[To sit] on [your] right and [your] left in separate groups?

Does every person among them aspire to enter a garden of pleasure?

No! Indeed, We have created them from that which they know.

So I swear by the Lord of [all] risings and settings that indeed We are able

To replace them with better than them; and We are not to be outdone.

So leave them to converse vainly and amuse themselves until they meet their Day which they are promised -

The Day they will emerge from the graves rapidly as if they were, toward an erected idol, hastening.

Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. That is the Day which they had been promised.

......... Muhammad must have been really frustrated by the fact that most people saw him as majnoon and did not take his revelations seriously enough.

That is literally first 5 years of Islam., I can see that in Quran
    Quote
So what could be more dramatic, but to swear by allah himself. Muhammad was like: "why are you not listening to me???!!!".

Well I don't know whether PBUH was like that or not but it is a fact., the Islamic leaders, preachers, mullahs, Imams, baboons., do use Muhammad's name and say to you   this every day
    Quote
"why are you not listening to me??? I am saying to you these are the words of Prophet Muhammad(PBUH)" if you don't listen to me.,  we will beat you  up in this life and curse your soul so it get roasted in allah hell fire  all the time"

That is what these fools say/saying every day..

So let us go back to next Surah.. the 16th surah which is numbered as surah 102 in the book . it says
    Quote
102.001 YUSUFALI: The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things),
PICKTHAL: Rivalry in worldly increase distracteth you
    SHAKIR: Abundance diverts you,

    102.002-008
Until you come to the graves.
    Nay! you shall soon know,
Nay! Nay! you shall soon know.
Nay! if you had known with a certain knowledge,
     You should most certainly have seen the hell;
    Then you shall most certainly see it with the eye of certainty;
Then on that day you shall most certainly be questioned about the boons.

So those are the eight verses from that surah.. what is it telling and who??  is it telling to uncle Abu Lahab? I don't know allah knows the best....  Oh well I can not find any gold nugget in it.

The only thing i see  there is "hell fire to those who don't follow me"..me...meeee... me and my allah.....  Any way I just put that three translations of first verse because each one is translating in his own way and there are small differences.

well let us move  to next Surah.. the 17th surah which is numbered as surah 107 in the book.. Ooops looks like there is mathematical miracle  there.,   17 to 107 and it has 7 verses.,  number 7 lottery ticket .,  just put the zero in the middle revelation order becomes compilation order... what a mathematical miracle ....miracle.. miracle.. Subhanallah ..Subhanallah ..  allah hooakbar

Foolish.. Edip... Foolish., get over the nonsense, any ways Let us read that 17th surah's 7 verses

    Quote
    107.001-005
Have you considered him who calls the judgment a lie?
That is the one who treats the orphan with harshness[/b],
And does not urge (others) to feed the poor.
So woe to the praying ones,
Who are neglectful of their prayers,

    107.006
YUSUFALI: Those who (want but) to be seen (of men),
PICKTHAL: Who would be seen (at worship)
SHAKIR: Who do (good) to be seen,

    107.007
YUSUFALI: But refuse (to supply) (even) neighbourly needs.
    PICKTHAL: Yet refuse small kindnesses!
SHAKIR: And withhold the necessaries of life.

well what do we learn from those 7 verses?.. Grudge? again problems with same guy Abu Lahab?   My goodness ., those are indeed strange revelations., This Allah seems to have terrible grudge against that guy., So again who was that guy?? well it is time to write some sort of "QURAN REVEALED  INITIAL ISLAMICHISTORY"  from all those verses

So let us move on to next surah.. The 18th surah in the revelation order and that went in to the book as surah 109   Al-Kafirun ,, THE DISBELIEVERS, ATHEISTS   it has 6 verses and was allegedly revealed in Mecca. Well this surah is an important one and appears to be reveled because RASCALS like those who write in to CEMB.  finmad

    Quote
    09.001
    Quote
USUFALI: Say : O ye that reject Faith!
    PICKTHAL: Say: O disbelievers!
    SHAKIR: Say: O unbelievers!

109.002 : I worship not that which ye worship,
109.003: Nor will ye worship that which I worship.[
109.004: And I shall not worship that which ye worship.
109.005:  Nor will ye worship that which I worship.
109.006 :You shall have your religion and I shall have my religion.

    Oh lallah Oh lallah ..

That  Surah   is clearly  for those who reject ALL Faiths., that is not against Juice and is a not against Arabian  pagans  neither it is against Arabian Christians but but Arabian Atheists of that time ..  very interesting 6 line Surah..  But only the problem is those who reject all faiths do not have any faith..  They go by evidence and keep options open  to every one  who would like to explore  the evidences in their respective  faiths..

So Atheism is not really faith., it is trying to find the facts and truth about the existing faiths and   the faiths that may come in future

The 19th surah is the next one in the revelation order and it is called Al-Fil (THE ELEPHANT)., In the compilation order it goes as surah-105 with 5 verses. It is also allegedly revealed in Mecca

    Quote
    105.001-002
Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with the possessors of the elephant?
Did He not cause their war to end in confusion
    ,

    105.003-005
And send down (to prey) upon them birds in flocks,
Casting against them stones of baked clay,
Then did He make them like an empty field of stalks and straw, (of which the corn) has been eaten up.

well elephants flying from war and birds fighting war with  stones of baked clay and the birds all the food of opponents allah followers.,  that is all what it is .. a silly story.

Now question is how do figure out  from where this story is picked up?? Clearly it is referring to some  king/leader  who had troops with  elephants  that was going against allah follower and allah took care of that elephant by confusing the elephant., May be allah sent a mouse in to the nose of elephant..  whatever.. but how do we find this story? well we got to go and search hadith and search some historical story from other religions/cultures

Let us read that Surah-20 in the order of revelation from allah to Pbuh..  THE IDIOTS WHO COLLATED QURAN way after the death of Prophet of Islam   took This 20th  surah that was sequentially revealed by allah  to Prophet of Islam in Mecca., they put that as 113 in the book.. This is one suarh before that last revelation 114 of the book??   Why?

These early Islamic idiots who wrote those words of Allah/God in Quran, And Last Prophet's Sunah and hadith stories.   all of that appears to be screwed up. RASCALS confused the hell out of Muslim folks and non-Muslim folks of that time, and even to day.,     Why??  Fools...

I don't know,  allah knows the best.. So let us go and  read 20th surah(aka 113 in the book) with five verses in it..

    AL-FALAQ (THE DAYBREAK, DAWN)

    Total Verses: 5
    Revealed At: MAKKA

    Quote
    113.001
YUSUFALI: Say: I seek refuge with the Lord of the Dawn
PICKTHAL: Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the Daybreak
SHAKIR: Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the dawn,

    113.002
    YUSUFALI: From the mischief of created things;
    PICKTHAL: From the evil of that which He created;
SHAKIR: From the evil of what He has created,

    113.003
    YUSUFALI: From the mischief of Darkness as it overspreads;
PICKTHAL: From the evil of the darkness when it is intense,
SHAKIR: And from the evil of the utterly dark night when it comes,

    113.004
    YUSUFALI: From the mischief of those who practise secret arts;
PICKTHAL: And from the evil of malignant witchcraft,
SHAKIR: And from the evil of those who blow on knots,

    113.005
YUSUFALI: And from the mischief of the envious one as he practises envy.
PICKTHAL: And from the evil of the envier when he envieth.
SHAKIR: And from the evil of the envious when he envies

well that is 20 th surah  Al-Falaq  (THE DAYBREAK, DAWN)., what is it talking about? is it ranting against  a magician guy who may have been more popular with the crowd of town than allah messenger?

do we know that guy's name from history of early  Islam??

Well December 31st., The  day ends shortly .. The year ends.,  Ooops it looks like miracle., indeed miracle.. miracle.,   I am reading the LAST CHAPTER of Quran, surah 114  on the last day of the year. It is a miracle

But.. but.,   it is actually Chapter 21st. The 21st surah in the revelation order and some nut cases dumped it as the last chapter in the book.  any ways let us read it..   An- Nas ( The Man Kind) and it has 6 verses..
    Quote

    The King of men,

From the evil of the whisperings of the slinking (Shaitan),
Who whispers into the hearts of men,
From among the jinn and the men.

well that is what it is .. and I don't know whether it is about men or Mankind?
Hu! I wonder whether there is any difference between men and mankind.

Well Three verses for praising god and three verses on some guy,  some  Shaitan  or some jinn that may have been whispering against Prophet of Islam and his god allah..

That is what we have there.

Well  Now Chapter 22nd and that chapter in book is Surah-112 Al-Ikhlas  (SINCERITY) ., It has four verses

    Quote
    112.001
    YUSUFALI: Say: He is Allah, the One and Only;
PICKTHAL: Say: He is Allah, the One!
SHAKIR: Say: He, Allah, is One.

    112.002
    YUSUFALI: Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;
PICKTHAL: Allah, the eternally Besought of all!
SHAKIR: Allah is He on Whom all depend.

    112.003
    YUSUFALI: He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;
PICKTHAL: He begetteth not nor was begotten.
SHAKIR: He begets not, nor is He begotten.

    112.004
YUSUFALI: And there is none like unto Him.
PICKTHAL: And there is none comparable unto Him.
SHAKIR: And none is like Him.

well that is all about god again., So what is new in that? that praising of god is there in every culture, in every religion and  that was there much before the birth of Prophet of Islam. nothing new., Yes  some one spells that in Arabic it sounds very impressive .. well for some those Rap music sounds equally impressive..

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIjXYhjcxdo

Well some guy/lady?? made  a song   out of the  names of Surahs.,  It may not make sense but that also sounds equally impressive

Let us read that Chapter 23 which becomes Surah   53   An-Najm(THE STAR)   with 62 verses, allegedly revealed in    Mecca.

    Quote
    053.001-004
I swear by the star when it goes down.
    Your companion does not err, nor does he go astray;
Nor does he speak out of desire.
It is naught but revelation that is revealed,

    053.005-007
The Lord of Mighty Power has taught him,
The Lord of Strength; so he attained completion,
And he is in the highest part of the horizon.

    053.008-018
Then he drew near, then he bowed
So he was the measure of two bows or closer still.
And He revealed to His servant what He revealed.
The (Prophet's) (mind and) heart in no way falsified that which he saw.
Will ye then dispute with him concerning what he saw?
And certainly he saw him in another descent,
Near the Lote-tree beyond which none may pass:
Near which is the garden, the place to be resorted to.
Behold, the Lote-tree was shrouded (in mystery unspeakable!)
The eye did not turn aside, nor did it exceed the limit.
For truly did he see, of the Signs of his Lord, the Greatest!

    053.019-025
Have ye seen Lat. and 'Uzza,
And another, the third (goddess), Manat?
What! for you the males and for Him the females!
This indeed is an unjust division!
They are naught but names which you have named, you and your fathers; Allah has not sent for them any authority. They follow naught but conjecture and the low desires which (their) souls incline to; and certainly the guidance has come to them from their Lord.
Or shall man have what he wishes?
But it is to Allah that the End and the Beginning (of all things) belong.

well we can make the story out of the above verses.., Let me split the Surah in to different sections  that makes it easy to read..

Do not let silence become your legacy.. Question everything

How many-so-ever be the angels in the heavens, their intercession will avail nothing except after Allah has given leave for whom He pleases and that he is acceptable to Him.
Those who believe not in the Hereafter, name the angels with female names.
And they have no knowledge of it; they do not follow anything but conjecture, and surely conjecture does not avail against the truth at all.
Therefore turn aside from him who turns his back upon Our reminder and does not desire anything but this world's life.
That is their goal of knowledge; surely your Lord knows best him who goes astray from His path and He knows best him who follows the right direction.
And Allah's is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth, that He may reward those who do evil according to what they do, and (that) He may reward those who do good with goodness.
Those who avoid great sins and shameful deeds, only (falling into) small faults,- verily thy Lord is ample in forgiveness. He knows you well when He brings you out of the earth, And when ye are hidden in your mothers' wombs. Therefore justify not yourselves: He knows best who it is that guards against evil.

    053.033 -039
Have you then seen him who turns his back?
And gives a little and (then) withholds.
Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see?
Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa?
And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments):

    053.038-046

That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another-
And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for-
And that his striving shall soon be seen-
Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward-
And that to your Lord is the goal-
     And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep;
And that He it is Who causes death and gives life-
And that He created pairs, the male and the female
From the small seed when it is adapte

    053.047-055

     That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead);
     That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction;
     And that He is the Lord of the Sirius;
And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people),
    And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not;
    And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate;
And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah).
So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up.
Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute?

    053.056-058
This is a warner of the warners of old.
The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh:
There shall be none besides Allah to remove it.

    053.059-062
Do you then wonder at this announcement?
And will you laugh and not weep?
     While ye amuse yourselves?
So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him).

....  Just to remind the folks.., I realized looong back that the word "HE" used in Quran creates a serious problem to understand it.,  If you sing a song in Arabic., it may /may not make difference ,m but in these English translations in Some surahs( often with in a Surah) This he represents  some time ALlah., some times Prophet and some times some angel, and some times some guy and some times some rascal like Abu Lahab.  Hmm That word " Sirius" is interesting.. So what is the origin of that word in Quran?  Is it a Miracle as that PIMP Adnan Oktar made it sound like miracle???

So one has to be careful., And to make a sense which person Quran is referring, one has to at least 5 verses below and 5 verses  above the verse of interest..

Well I read Quran many times for different purposes  such as enquiring in to a verse or trying to figure out possible story behind  the revelation of a particular verse and off course  I read chapter by chapter as I see in the present book. So  this is one more time I am reading it., the only difference is now I am reading it through its revelation order.

So what I saw always in Quran was a pattern of a sonnet/ a song/ or a book of little little poems put together to tell a story or assert something or to chide the folks in the town or to praise the god or to hate some one such a Abu Lahab as our stubborn bu  appears to be opposing some preacher/prophet/messenger/Muhammad(whatever) of the town. We have to realize here the Arabic word "Muhammad" can be used as an adjective to any one, The meaning being a "Praise worthy Person".

So I was just reading some article on "UNCONTROLLED  CELL GROWTH"  such as Elephantiasis a disease that is characterized by the thickening of the skin and underlying tissues, especially in the legs.  So this story took me to a guy named Joseph Merrick.  Casually I was reading about him

That is Joseph Merrick  (5 August 1862 – 11 April 1890).  What I was surprised to read about him  was.,  Not only had abnormal growth on his body here and there but    He was an English entertainer and poet, who became famous as "The Elephant Man"

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CejyfdIaCQ0

watch the tube to see the troubles of such people.  They are indeed inspirational..
    Quote
It is true my form is something odd.
    But blaming me is blaming God;
    Could I create myself anew,
I would not fail in pleasing you.
If I could reach from pole to pole,
Or grasp the ocean with a span,
I would be measured by the soul,
The mind's the standard of the man.

And that is his poem...  ha!

It is true my form is something odd.
    But blaming me is blaming God;

What a beautiful philosophical words from that man. They sound as good as they are from Allah/God  whatever.,   well to me they sound better than Quran.. Indeed this allah/god is cruel..  but now we understand the reasons for Elephantiasis and we can eliminate this debilitating disease..

well that is life take it or leave it.   Hmm That post is far away from Quran yet it sounds  close to Quran.. And that poem is far better than  the poems I read in Quran.

He(The Prophet) frowned and turned away,

And what would make you know that he would purify himself,
Or that he might receive admonition, and the teaching might profit him?

    080.005-012
As for him who considers himself free from need (of you),
To him do you address yourself.
And no blame is on you if he would not purify himself
And as to him who comes to you striving hard,
    And he fears,
From him will you divert yourself.
Nay! surely it is an admonishment.
So let him who pleases mind it
    .

Cursed be man! how ungrateful is he!
Of what thing did He create him?
Of a small seed; He created him, then He made him according to a measure,
Then (as for) the way-- He has made it easy (for him)
Then He causes him to die, then assigns to him a grave,
Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again.
Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him.

    080.024-033

Then let man look to his food,
That We pour down the water, pouring (it) down in abundance,
Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder,
Then We cause to grow therein the grain,
    And grapes and clover,
And the olive and the palm,
     And thick gardens,
     And fruits and herbage
A provision for you and for your cattle
    .

    080.033-042

But when the deafening cry comes,
The day on which a man shall fly from his brother,
And his mother and his father,
And his spouse and his son--
Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him.
(Many) faces on that day shall be bright,
     Laughing, joyous.
And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust,
    Darkness shall cover them.

Any ways our surah 25 in revelation order is surah 97 in compilation order.  Oh well

The translations appears to be close to that of Shakir's translation.  Indeed he worked hard to get that translation.,    Arabic language  being AhmedBahgat's mother tongue  and that guy is well versed with Quran  his translation appears to be the closest to the original book..

.. Any ways our surah 25 in revelation order is surah 97 in compilation order.  Oh well
That is surah 25  Aka surah-97 AL-QADR (POWER, FATE) with 5 verses

So we read 25 surahs in a sequence through the revelation order.  Prophet is still in Mecca.  We are still in Mecca.  Apparently 86 of out of 114 surahs  that we see in Quran are revealed in Mecca. Any ways let us move on our next surah, the Surah 26 and that is Surah 91  in the book with the name
    Ash-Shams (THE SUN).

    Quote
    091.001-007

I swear by the sun and its brilliance,
And the moon when it follows the sun,
And the day when it shows it,
And the night when it draws a veil over it,
And the heaven and Him Who made it,
And the earth and Him Who extended it,
And the soul and Him Who made it perfect,

    091.008
    Then He inspired it to understand what is right and wrong for it;
He will indeed be successful who purifies it,
And he will indeed fail who corrupts it.

    091.011-015

The Thamud (people) rejected (their prophet) through their inordinate wrong-doing,
Behold, the most wicked man among them was deputed (for impiety).
So Allah's messenger said to them (Leave alone) Allah's she-camel, and (give) her (to) drink.
But they called him a liar and slaughtered her
, therefore their Lord crushed them for their sin and levelled them (with the ground).
And for Him is no fear of its consequences.

That is  the Surah 26 AkA  Surah 91  with 15 verses.  So what is that supposed to mean?   some criminals slaughtering Allah's she-camel?? or Prophet's camel..  So they were punished .. big deal..  Well criminals are prosecuted/fined/killed all the time.  Anyways we will read Tafsir later. My goal here is finding history of the stories  that we read in Quran  that may or may not be real and  may or may not have happened during the prophet's time

Our 27th Surah has been compiled as Surah-85 Al-Burooj (THE MANSIONS OF THE STARS, CONSTELLATIONS) and has 22-verses..

    Quote
    085.001-003
I swear by the mansions of the stars,
     And the promised day,
And the bearer of witness and those against whom the witness is borne.

    085.004-009
Cursed be the makers of the pit,
Of the fire (kept burning) with fuel,
    When they sat by it,
And they were witnesses of what they did with the believers.
And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!-
Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things.

    085.010-016
--Surely (as for) those who persecute the believing men and the believing women, then do not repent, they shall have the chastisement of hell, and they shall have the chastisement of burning.
--Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, that is the great achievement.
--Surely the might of your Lord is great.
-- Surely He it is Who originates and reproduces,
-- And He is the Forgiving, the Loving,
-- Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious,
--The great doer of what He will.

    085.017-020
--Has not there come to you the story of the hosts,
    --Of Pharaoh and the Thamud?
--And yet the Unbelievers (persist) in rejecting (the Truth)!
--And Allah, all unseen, surroundeth them.

    085.021-022
--Nay! it is a glorious Quran,
     (--Inscribed) in a Tablet Preserved!

Well it is has usual swearing on starts, sweriing on gfreen grass whatever+ some cursing of non believers added to that are few words of Pharaoh,  the Thamud and Quran is preserved for all times. What else??  that is all goody goody and No contextual/no history of that time but these few words

seems to be tal;king about some guys who make pit and add fuel to it and make flames in a pit.. Clearly our Allah is blaming those guys. Well Our next surah is 28  and it is dropped in the book as 95  and it has     8 verses in it. Well let us read those Allah/ God's words in Surah At-Tin (THE FIG, THE FIG TREE).. Figs are good good fruit,,

    Quote
    095.001
YUSUFALI: By the Fig and the Olive,
PICKTHAL: By the fig and the olive,
SHAKIR: I swear by the fig and the olive,

YUSUFALI: And the Mount of Sinai,
    PICKTHAL: By Mount Sinai,
    SHAKIR: And mount Sinai,

    095.003
YUSUFALI: And this City of security,-
    PICKTHAL: And by this land made safe;
SHAKIR: And this city made secure,

    095.004
YUSUFALI: We have indeed created man in the best of moulds,
PICKTHAL: Surely We created man of the best stature
SHAKIR: Certainly We created man in the best make.

    095.005
YUSUFALI: Then do We abase him (to be) the lowest of the low,-
PICKTHAL: Then we reduced him to the lowest of the low,
SHAKIR: Then We render him the lowest of the low.
