I'm going to be blunt, so I Apologise in Advance:

    No, Smoking isn't over-vilified - you're smoking arsenic and insecticide, motherf*cker - where's your bloody head at?

    http://www.med.upenn.edu/cirna/pdf/ingredients.pdf

I've never heard of a single logical or practical reason to smoke - it's as stupid as religion. If you're going to smoke for no good reason, you might as well return to Islam (for no good reason).

Islam damages people, you say? So does smoking.

Smoking is relaxing, you say? So is prayer - that isn't a good enough reason to do either.

    Any rebuttals?

     bunny

there is no reason why we ought to smoke, but unless smoking directly affects the wellbeing of others(this is why i smoke around smokers), it is unreasonable to say you also ought not to smoke.

it's like asking why we spend fucktons of money on shit we don't need. there's no reason to do it, but it's not a moral issue whether we do.

I find cigarettes smell (not to mention taste) far too rank to be appealing, let alone the long-term health and financial implications. The odd shisha (or cigar) I can understand, though.

Then again, what do I know as a non-smoker? Perhaps cigarettes help people look cool, attract the opposite sex and even spell vilified correctly.

I had a tooth out on Tuesday and been told not to smoke for 48 hours. You might think that would be a good opportunity to stop smoking - but all I can think about is exactly when will the 48 hours be over so I can have a fag!

I was a Benson & Hedges man. Man my lungs took a pummelling. Smoked a Gitanes once, French ciggie. First toke felt like a hammer whacked in my throat and chest. Weaned myself off slowly, stepped down to Marlboro Lights, then strangely didn't find it that hard to give up completely.

I sometimes smoke dole-ups. Not when I'm out obviously. That would be embarrassing.

I personally dont smoke, mainly cuz of all the health drama out there.
I care alot about my health, so smoking isnt something I consider.
I did smoke once back in 10th grade and I got kicked out of school, so bad experience with that.

&& my ex boyfriend was a smoker (both weed and cigs) and he wasted soooo much of his money on smoking!
And then he'd complain about how he never has any money left.

Only if that sort of shit embarrasses you.  Grin

It doesn't me.  I take them pre rolled though, because hey, sweaty dingy clubs make rolling hard.

Embrace the dole up, way prices keep going up they will be everyone's flavour.

Inhale the good shit, exhale the bullshit.

    dole-up?

Roll-your-own tobacco, with Rizla, and filter tips if you're feeling extra flamboyant.

Dole is slang for benefits. Dole money = Unemployment benefit. On the dole = out of work

Y'know, I actually prefer the taste too. Pack cigarettes taste so chemical and fake to me when I've been smoking roll-ups.

Ah. I knew what dole meant, just didn't make the connection. Duh.

Here in the US the cheapest brand of rolling tobacco is called "Top", they used to give it away free as rations in the Massachusetts correctional system (all the prisons there are now non-smoking), so back in the day we used to say "When you're smokin Top, you're really on the bottom"

I used to roll Bugler (almost as cheap as Top) then graduated to Gauloise and Samson, both imported but still much cheaper than buying a pack and quite tasty too.

    fuck you

I'll buy a pouch of Golden Virginia and that'll last me a couple of weeks. I buy a 20 stack of B&H for when I'm out at the weekend, or just scrounge a cig off someone. I don't actually smoke that much tbh. My body is a temple, and all that.

Too fucking busy, and vice versa.
