     OP - February 04, 2011, 03:53 AM

    Hello everyone,
I am 40 years old. I have been a good muslim throughout my early teen years and I have even managed to memorize most of the quran. It was not too long though before I started having doubts about quran itself. I was too scared to dwell on those "kufr" thoughts. I have eventually found my comfort zone doing the "bare minimum".
I have stopped practicing about a year ago after 2 years of reading and searching for answers to my old questions. I am not sure when it happened but islam does not make sense to me no more.

I should say that the hardest part was (is) overcoming my fears of the eternal hellfire!

Re: Hell.  If it were real (which it clearly isn't) it would be a tough choice
    A: Eternity in hell
B: Eternity in heaven worshipping an entity that would torture others in hell for eternity

That's not heaven, it's merely a choice between mental torture and physical torture - both are hell.

Not sure about you, but knowing that people are burning to death in the next room would make it difficult for me to become sufficiently sexually aroused Smiley

Didn't the Qur'an say "nor shall they grieve" for those that go to Hell?

Allah's peachy prizes make you forget.

The troll logic I caught was how man is to dedicate his life to worshipping Allah to get his golden ticket to Jannah - where he will worship Allah for all time. Islam takes humanity for simple chattel, at best.

Allah likes to brain wash people.  People really haven't thought this whole thing out.  I mean really, like Ishna said, can you really be that happen when you friends are being tortured forever because they didn't believe the same thing as you.  If yes, the you're a complete asshole, and if not then Allah has to wipe your mind and I cant think of a bigger violation than that.

So once again I'm left with the classic Irish man's dilemma, do I eat the potato or do I let it ferment so I can drink it later?

This is just one of the many absurdities in Islam,- upon seeing your kafir friends going to hell there are basically three options:
    1) Allah will let you forget about your beloved one's being bbq'ed in Hell. Result: You become a brainwashed, arrogant cunt of a zombie.
    2) You grieve each single day in heaven about your dear ones. Result: That can't possibly be heaven.
    3) After all, Allah only included those terrorizing verses in the Quran to scare people,- once you come to dar'ul-akhirat you see that there is no such torture as hell. Result: Allah is a petty lying Deity, keen on using blackmail.

    There is also option 4

    4) Everyone destined for hell on judgement day will agree it is what they deserve, the occupants in heaven will also realise why they deserve it.  Put it on the shelf at the back of your mind, one day in the future it will make sense.....most likely after we are dead.

Hi, It is been a while since I logged into the forum.....I had a really hectic week at the office, besides I was busy with what's happening in Egypt for the last couple of weeks.

I found the link to this forum on Hassan's "Abooali's blog". I am an Egyptian/Canadain living and working in Qatar....sorry for not being able to say more than that in order to help protect my identity.

Username: I know what you mean but, despite its “wild west” connotations, the name tumbleweed also carries other philosophical associations that can be used to symbolize the grim absurdity of the human life, doesn't it?

sorry for the late response.  WELCOME TUMBLEWEED!
