i used to pk quite a lot like 7 years ago before all of this newgen shit like claws and godswords, nowadays i bot/goldfarm and sell the accounts off for real life cash. makes me a fair amount of cash tbh.

i sold my main pking account which was a pure then a ranged tank. got like 200 from that sale, now i just run a sorc garden army and sell the gold.

though i have another acc that's more 'mainy' and i plan to goldfarm like 300m from that and net myself a nice $500 before i go to uni.

not really tbh. all you can hope for on a maxed range tank is either a lucky 48/48 while risking full void or a lucky 76 from dbolt spec. range is only good for rushing tbh, it's more effective once a rush has failed to switch to melee/mage hybriding(especially with shit like korasi which is basically a cheap ags).

edit: actually i think these days dbow max is like 52/52 or some shit but idk

you're quite wrong.

99 def, hp and range(assuming turmoil and 75 attack/strength here btw, so 95 prayer) is 110 combat.
99 def, hp, range, strength and 80 attack is 113 cb.

considering there's no point in more than 80 attack if you're anal about cb, there's absolutely no point in being primarily range.

as i said before, handcannon/dbows/dbolts(e) only work for an initial rush, and if that rush fails then if you're going to continue the fight you're better off putting on mage gear, fcing and then waiting for an opportunity to melee spec(like i said, korasi is the trend these days)

that depends on gear. i guarantee you that a dude with tank gear(whether it's welfare or not) and turmoil or leech atk/str using a dds is going to 35-35 you faster than you can 76 him, as tank gear has an obvious advantage against ranged gear. ofc you'd be using ranged 'tank' gear so you might have a nice dfs(if you're not welfaring) but that will make a mininum difference tbh.

also dude, i'm talking about wildy pking. people play so much differently as they're actually risking their gear as opposed to fight caves where you'll get some wanker going mental with his full torva or some shit. also duel arena is also completely different(even staking) as the tactics one uses are entirely dependant upon the rules set.

regardless, by the time a 'ranged tank' is maxed, they're not good enough to stand up to fc hybriders unless the bridder really sucks.
