    Everybody knows about Nazia Iqbal.

but I would personally question these other dancers, Some of them are not Pashtuns but hired from other parts of Pakistan.

Pashtun? Is that an Afghan title?
Welcome Pashtun. I heard the label from Kite Runner as well as the word Hazara but I don't understand what they are. Care to explain?

I'm open for debate (of why we should re-/embrace Islam), but I will no longer participate in this forum. Message me if you need anything. Good luck and may you all find your way... again...

Pashtun are an Eastern Persian/Iranian ethnic group (i.e. Indo-European). Based in S&E Afghanistan/NW Pakistan.
Hazara is an ethnic group (possibly) tied originally to the Mongols who arrived in Afghanistan with the Mongol invasions of Genghis Khan etc.

Thanks hupla. But isn't it racist to make that distinction?

And do they literally mean anything in any of Afghanistan's languages? What are those languages?

Thanks hupla. But isn't it racist to make that distinction?

Not really - it is a cultural, linguistic, tribal distinction. Hazaras tend to be Shia for example.  They have their own culture and language (Hazaragi - though I had to google that!)

Pashtuns speak Pashto/Pushto/Pukhto - depending on how you pronounce it...

    Luftazure

    Hupla is right.

and there is nothing racist about it.

Hazaras are the direct descendents of the mongol soldiers who were driven out.

They also may have some turkic blood in them.

Pashtuns speak Pushto, and Tajiks speak Dari

Both Pushto and Dari/Farsi are the direct sons of the language of Avesta which was spoken in Persia.

    I hope that helped.

luftazure, since when is it racist to describe different ethnic groups like hupla did?

Anyway welcome pashtun, I hope you enjoy it here and gain something from this place Smiley

Just look at the sun and the moon, rotating around the earth perfectly! Out of all the never ending space in the universe, the sun and moon ended up close to earth rotating around it perfectly.!!

It's because when I watched the Kite Runner, Amir got really offended when someone called his nephew a Hazara boy.

They are a slightly despised minority - tending to be Shia for one thing.

I'm absolutely disgusted by Sunni-Shia struggles.
