    JERUSALEM — At least 27 Israeli rabbis' wives have signed a letter calling on Jewish women to avoid intermarriage with Arabs and even avoid working alongside Arab men, Israeli media reported on Wednesday.

    The letter also warns Jewish women they risk falling under the sway of Arab men if they serve alongside them in Israel's national service.

    "For your sake, for the sake of future generations, and so you don't undergo horrible suffering, we turn to you with a request, a plea, a prayer," said the text of the letter as quoted in media reports.

    "Don't date non-Jews, don't work at places that non-Jews frequent, and don't do national service with non-Jews."

    By the way, I do know a lot of close-nit communities in Pakistan who strongly oppose marriages outside of community. And if they do, they are kicked out of community.

    They should make a religious edict declaring that women shouldn't intermarry outside their religion, if its not one already.

    Yeah, but in Israel the concern is clearly Arabs. Many Israelis are terrified that someday non-Jews/Arabs will become the majority within Israel's borders, which explains a lot of their actions towards the Palestinians and Arab-Israelis.

    Aren't their fears valid? Forget the Israel-Palestine problem for the moment, I don't think they have had great memories living as minorities anywhere in the world. So it's natural they perceive being a majority paramount to their survival.

    Yes-- and that's the whole problem. In order for them to maintain a predominately Jewish state in the middle of the Muslim world they must resort to violence, racial and religious discrimination, oppression and disenfranchisement, and ethnic cleansing. Same shit the White South Africans needed to do to maintain their privileged position over the majority ethnic group.
