  • How to miss Eid Prayer?
     OP - November 09, 2010, 04:52 PM

    Hey guys.

Eid's coming up next week, tuesday most likely, and I'm wondering how I'm gonna miss it. My mother would turn mad if I didn't attend the prayer, so I don't know what to do.

Should I just attend the damn prayer? I seriously can not be bothered to wake up and to travel to a place full, I mean it, full of Muslims.

    What do you guys do?

    Thanks!

on last Eid, I bite the bullet.. My brother drove, so wasn't a problem. I told my mom that I have to get to work no matter what. This time, my parents are out of town so wouldn't be a problem.

If you have to go with the family, I would say, just go and get it over with. If you have to go alone, just go to a coffee shop and spend some time there..

Angel Gabriel just came into the room and told me that theres no point, Allah already knew whether we all would or wouldn't do something since the beginning of time, so his perspective on me was already determined  yes

Fuck it, if god has to exist for you then put him on your side, just like all other religious people...who can believe what ever the hell they want and god always just seems to be on their side on the matter  Cheesy

I've got a training day, honest. But I'll come along in the evening if there is anything interesting happening. Especially the food! grin12

Yup. Nothing can beat the food on Eid Day. It's almost like a Christmas Turkey, only Tandoori Chicken.

I'm open for debate (of why we should re-/embrace Islam), but I will no longer participate in this forum. Message me if you need anything. Good luck and may you all find your way... again...

    Thanks for the replies guys.

@luftazure. Yup. This is what I'm mainly thinking about doing. I might go sleep at 2.00 or something like that. I think that's the best thing to do. Thanks!

@Q-Man. Won't try that. My mom won't listen at all, she knows that I don't pray at all; so she'll know it's just an excuse.

    @Saathiya. I'm a boy? Lol?

@Lukatic. I could, but if I go school, students would be curious as to why I ain't celebrating Eid. Also teachers will be bound to be curious. If my friends and other students get to know about this, they might doubt me. I have not told anyone about my apostasy, and I'm gonna hopefully keep it that way.

    Thanks for the advice.  Smiley

Go with them & take your phone or a book, then when you father drops you off there walk out of the exit and chat to your mates/read instead until prayer time is over.

"I'm a boy?" is that a question lol?

I just sleep till prayer is over then I wake up and complain about not being woken up properly strangely its worked for the past 3 years.

    Thanks for comments!

@Islame, it's impossible for me to go in and come of out the mosque. There's only one entrance, and the mosque gets damn packed in these days. If I go in, I can't come out basically.

@Damian_Gray, no it was a sarcastic question  Wink. I think this is what I'm mainly going to do. It seems the only rational reason for my mum to understand!

@Lilyesque. I'll probably get slapped/stoned/thrown out if I said that to anybody. Lol though

     thnkyu

Lol Islame, you can't do that on Eid days. There's hundreds of Muslims, who are coming in, and not going out. Also, there are some mosque "bouncers" who give out leaflets, and stand by the doors. I think it'll be pretty awkard if I walk out, and with everybody coming in.
I can't stand the stares, I'll faint lol.

Am only 15, can't get wrecked yet Heyjustlooking.  Wink

Lol, ye i forgot. Bad advice. I think you could throw out a ton of excuses and your parents are still going to make you go pray. I know what it's like to be a non-believer in the midst of hundreds of muslims praying and thinking to myself 'Why the hell am I still doing this shit!?'

I think I will have university class that day so no Eid prayer for me, luckily.

Lol Muddy, there's another problem with mosques. You have toilets linked with wudu centre, so there will be dozens of Muslims doing ablution and wanting to have a quick pee. It'll be pretty odd to see someone's feet in the toilet for a long time.

Lucky you Heyjustlooking. I've went to friday prayers during the holiday, and felt so damn stupid and awkard in the mosque. It's like what you said. Good luck with Uni Smiley

Imagine the fun you could have with something like that - like an mp3 in the mosque toilet playing the sound of an orgasm or people having sex on loop - even better if we could film the reaction on youtube, it would be priceless.
