  • Jamaat-e-Islami Members Speak at Fundraiser
     OP - October 15, 2010, 10:21 AM

So the UK Islamic Mission is having a number of fund-raising events around the UK and it has invited to speak at these events local councilors, like Salma Yaqoob, but more interestingly, members of the Jamaat-e-Islami party.

The aim of these conventions is to remind Muslims in the UK of their duties and responsibilities towards their communities and as citizens of European societies, and to raise awareness of our new European Islamic Centre that we have recently established.

The programmes will emphasise the importance of unity, respect, cooperation, justice, peace, cordial relations with fellow non-Muslims, and that Muslims communities should play an active and positive role in the UK and Europe.

Interesting that they have these Maududi-types speaking at these conferences in the hope that it will ameliorate relations between Muslims and non-Muslims in the UK.  wacko

Abdul Rashid Turabi of Jamaat Due in Birmingham

    habibi, October 14th 2010, 10:00 pm

The UK Islamic Mission (UKIM) has added another speaker from Jamaat-e-Islami to its upcoming tour: Abdul Rashid Turabi. He is the Islamist party’s leader in Kashmir.

He is scheduled to speak in Birmingham on 23 October, along with fellow party members Qazi Hussain Ahmed and Siraj ul-Haq.

Interesting stuff. I may try to attend the one in Glasgow. lol
