    I still wonder about that, but this bit from my blog clears it up for me, when the prophet wanted to marrry more than the 4 wife stipulated Quranic limit..


    However, the prophet was already married to the limit of four wives.  So Allah then sent him a revelation which set an exemption for him alone:

    Quote
    Qur'an 33:50 "O Prophet (Muhammad)! Verily, We have made lawful to you your wives, to whom you have paid their Mahr, and those (captives or slaves) whom your right hand possesses -- whom God has given to you, and the daughters of your paternal uncles and the daughters of your paternal aunts and the daughters of your maternal uncle & the daughters of your maternal aunts who migrated from Mecca with you, and a believing woman if she offers herself to the Prophet, and the Prophet wishes to marry her; a privilege for you only, not for the rest of the believers.”

    Upon this revelation Prophet Muhammad married her. 

    Also Aisha, the wife he was closest to, noted that these new revelations from Allah appeared to be very convenient

    Hey Thamina, It looks like you are trying to make hasty decision. Don't do it yet. Join some muslim forums as well. And see how it goes. Otherwise I am sure you would keep making hasty decisions about religion based on peer pressures.

    I very much doubt it was a hasty decision.

    As for Mo, I think it was a mix of both (far more of the lying).

    Just before ramadhan I told her about clubbing, drinking have a bf etc. and she just said to not tell my dad and to not do anything "dodgy" with the bf. I just wanna know what she says. I talk to muslims all the time on youtube and facebook. The pbuh thing has almost become normal now. I remember I used to use it when I was youngr and I never even knew what it stood for.  Cheesy

    to be fair it seems like she has a lot more knowledge about Islam than a lot of other Muslims, including me, lol.

    Over the past 10 months or so I've been reading a LOT about Islam. But before that I knew hardly anything about it. I didn't even know what sharia law was.
