Look, we've been in an extended period of social reaction throughout the world since the late 1970s. You have Islamists doin Islamist shit, you got the Christian Right, Minutemen, and Teabaggers doing Christian Right shit, hardcore Zionists doin their shit-- grassroots movements, some hooked-up with the ruling class/powers that be, some not. And as for the ruling class itself its split between naked aggression war hawks and social conservatives versus the social liberals who want to exercise a kinder, gentler imperialism, iron hand wrapped in velvet glove as opposed to rattling sabers. Then you got the naive working-class and petit bourgeois people who think working within the current system with the major ruling-class parties is really gonna change anything. Finally, you have those who just don't give a fuck, be that from disillusionment or apathy/laziness.

But none of those people stand for more social justice, more freedom, comfort and happiness for the average working-class man or woman, at least not in any meaningful way, though some may have the best of intentions.

There is no independent global movement that represents the interests of the working-class and freedom from social, religious and state oppression right now. So figuring out who your friends are is tough indeed, but it should be easy enough to discern your enemies.

A right-wing pastor who has collaborated on protests with the infamous Westboro Baptist Church, who put up a sign in front of his church that said "NO HOMO MAYOR" when a homosexual was running for the office in the area, and who wants to burn a Koran on 9/11, widely publicize it to the world-- this man is my enemy. This man is the enemy of anyone who believes in pluralism, secularism, freedom, tolerance, and justice. He deserves to be denounced-- no amount of your tu quoque examples from the Muslim world will change that-- and I find the fact that you are attacking those who are denouncing him to be more than a little disturbing, and makes me wonder what exactly you stand for.

Yeah, basically it's about why you would attack folks as "liberal pansies" for denouncing the clearly provocative and hateful actions of a religious leader with a history of bashing Muslims, gays, and anyone else who doesn't strictly conform to his reading of the Bible.

Why? Why are those denouncing him the bad guys in this scenario? Because similar stuff happens in the Muslim world all the time is not an explanation-- I'm sure there are also those in the Muslim world who denounce such acts, then are in turned denounced by the radicals. But we're not talking about that-- we're talking about Petraeus, Obama, and Clinton wrong for denouncing (not banning, not threatening to ban) hate speech by someone we'd all consider a total racist, bigoted, homophobic piece of shit-- why were they wrong to do that? You still have yet to explain that.

Why would I artificially separate these issues? Pastor Jones is on record as hating homosexuals and Muslims, and has made provocative statements insulting both. He's a religious bigot.
