  • Just bought 'Rethinking Islamism'
     OP - August 12, 2010, 11:36 AM

by  Meghnad Desai. I like the premise of the book which argues that Islamism should be approached and handled  like any other Ideology , such as that of Soviet Russia rather than a religious issue.
Im about to fnd a cafe and sit with a coffee and read it. Was wondering if anyone on here had read it and their thoughts. Also Meghnad Desai, whats his background ?

CORRECTION: Just changed the thread title. The book is called Rethingking Islamism and not Rethinking Islam. I realised my mistake and am aware of the massive difference between the two concepts.

I will post an edited version of the foreword later for those interested. Halfway through it and it is worth a read, lots of salient points they guy makes

According to the polls only 1.6 % of Americans are athiests. So what gives you the right to call the other 80% morons?'
