Lol. Dutch people are tall. That's a well-known fact.

Dutch people (the steriotypical ones) are tall, the women are also not really beautiful, but they are strikingly handsome, they not ugly, they just sturdy and very utilitarian.

I see what you mean. Interesting.

So since we've occasionaly had discussions about getting in shape in many other threads I thought it'd be cool to have one dedicated to it where we can discuss our goals related to health and body-image.

    So about me:
    Height: 5'11"
    Weight: 177lbs
    BodyFat%: ~10-12%
    Body Type: Ectomorph

Goals: Muscling building and cutting bf%

    Fitness Plan
Mornings: I bike or run every morning for about 30 min.

I do musclebuilding exercises 4 days a week usually like so:

    Monday: Back, Biceps
    Tuesday: REST
    Wednesday: Chest, Triceps
    Thursday: REST
    Friday: Legs (calves, quads), Shoulders
    Saturday: Abs, Cardio
    Sunday: REST

I typically do 3 exercises per muscle group 4 sets each. I aim for the 10-12 rep range.

    Diet
Given my weight and fitness goals my caloric intake is about 2700 and I try to get about 190g of protein per day. I space it out over about 6 meals across the day.

I've had good progress so far and have gained decent muscle over the last year of training, but since I'm naturally skinny its always tough.

Please discuss your fitness, dietary goals and your methods and progress so far. Smiley

Wow, Iblis that's some dedication if you stick to all that. Very specific. That is also a lot of protein - didn't know you need that much for muscle.

    So about me:
    Height: 5'4"
    Weight: 122lbs
    BodyFat%: ~9.65%
    Body Type: Ectomorph

Goals: Run a marathon in 5 hours. Do 30 chin-ups in a row.

    Fitness Plan
Run 3-4 times a week at around 150-160 bpm. Do chinups afterwards.

    Diet
Eat sufficient milk, porridge, potassium, protein, carbo. Lower salt intake.

    Issues
Renew orthotics for left foot. Possibly see injury clinic again about the right knee ... darn knee!!

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I remain.

    I would give you a 1000$ for the 4.5 cm  grin12

I'm barely 5'7 (169 cm). I have no neck. And it sucks because I like cowgirl a lot but have to avoid it cause I don't think it's a pleasant sight having my chin touching my chest. grin12 Although my ex told me it was OK !

    I don't know. Maybe I'm too self-conscious !

Having no neck is advantageous at times...

Naaa, your height is fine, imo. I think 5'7" is average. I think you are being a little too hard on yourself. Cheer up Smiley

Its not tall, but I don't consider it to be short either. Now 5'4" on the other hand, thats short lol. The men on my mums side of the family are around 5'3" to 5'5", all dainty, have no body hair, just hair on their head etc, and are not exactly very manly looking. Thank god I have my fathers genes, tall, mesomorph, body hair and masculine looking. All the men on my dads side of the family are over 5'11" and my dads grandfather was a little over 2 meters, around 6'8" and built like a lumberjack.

    LOL! Didn't see this post.

Well, right knee has got a bit worse ... that marathon is not looking like it is going to happen next year. :-( Oh well, see what the doctor says next week. Running is apprently the 4th most injury prone popular sport out there.

In the meanwhile, I've adapted to swimming. Tell you what, breastrokes works out the pectorals. So Iblis, if you want those pair of pecs whilst burning fat: have a read.

Btw, interesting to also note one's heart rate is lower when swimming for various reasons. I was wondering why I couldn't get above 150 bpm whilst being completely exhausted!

Yeah anything I can do to practice increasing the speed?  You know..  increase the burst of power..

Ye take a 4kg dumbell in either hand and practice your punching technique - hell of a workout.

Then go to the punching bag.
