Very good. You are learning well, young grasshopper.

Look man, you burned your chances to have serious conversations with me and a lot of other members on multiple occasions. If this were a brick-and-mortar social club or political organization, I doubt you'd keep coming back after you'd been kicked out the first time, much less two times, but because it's the internet and people can get away with that shit consequence-free they do it. And I have a bit of a problem with people who act differently offline than on. A person's character should be consistent and without artifice, their opinions and behavior honest and unswayed by negative repercussions. Whether you're anonymous or not, face-to-face or not, your behavior and words to strangers, acquaintances or friends, should be, if not identical, pretty close to each other in either circumstance.

There's not much reason for me to take someone seriously who just intrudes at a place, trashes the people there, and acts like an asshole simply because he's on the internet and figures he can.

Despite your beliefs to the contrary, I truly believe most of our regular posters here are of good character, are principled and are not bigoted in the least. If you have any shred of decency you will politely leave and not return. This is the last "serious" response you will get from me here, and I am mustering every bit of my belief that most people are at least okay in their soul, even if they can act like total dickheads at times to make this response to you. It very well may be repaid with more personal attacks by you-- I understand that and it makes little difference to me besides confirming my more cynical beliefs about the nature of humanity, but I sincerely hope that's not the case and you either politely take your leave of this place or simply not return after you are banned and leave the good people here alone.

    That is all.

    fuck you

Who's insulting your grandfather's dream. If I was your grandfather I'd have wanted to come here also. My grandfather and his grandfather and his grandfather and his grandfather before him all struggled , fought and died for the rights and way of life we have in the West today. Those rights and freedoms are now under threat by millions upon millions of people like your grandfather all arriving very quickly swamping our social security systems, our health services and our schools and bringing unprecedented amounts of illiteracy and an obnoxious feudal religion and all the  problems that goes with that with them.  How dare you insult and dismiss my forefathers and everything they struggled for and how dare you you say that by standing up for those rights I am demeaning your grandfather.

I WILL ORDER ONE LAST KEBAB

Old Moe from the Kebab shop is OK - we can keep him... SEND THE REST BACK! Though maybe also keep Abdul from the Bengali restaurant - I do love their food... and perhaps Karim who sweeps the floor at the office - he's alright... and maybe Jasmin in Admin... she's kinda cute... BUT SEND all the rest back... then again Jamshed who drove the car at my daughters wedding is nice... BUT ALL THE REST GOTTA GO!

There seemed to be an unquestioning belief that wanting to curtail immigration (especially muslim immigration) was 'right wing'.

    Which parts of the video?

As I understand it, CEMB expresses that it isn't right to enforce a blanket ban of all immigrants from Islamic nations since it is possible one may deny migrants trying to flee from such nations where they may face persecution. E.g. for being gay.

I think when discussing immigration, it is very important to keep perceptive and look at not just the numbers as a whole, but break them down to essentially two major areas:
    - what number bring business/economic value
    - what number assimilate to the nations values

As a state, one has to decide how much economic value they are willing to take for assimilation. The ideal immigrant is one who brings economic value and assimilates easily. Defining what level of economic threshold or assimilation threshold needed to pass would be the gray area that perhaps (in particular the UK government) has made mistakes in the past. But what I am trying to advocate is that controlling such unprecedented levels of immigration is a very difficult topic. I trust that if governments open debate, learn from the past, then we can move forward in a country like the UK where the population is aging and immigration is important. At the same time we need to accept people, wherever they are from, who display the desire to bring economic value and levels of integration qualities that would ensure unity and not division once they choose to live here and future generations that will be born.

As for immigrants already in the country and are not assimilating - well that's a different issue.

A mere 200 years in their long, long history and it wasn't exactly the Italians but the Sicilians and us with them.
