I stumbled across this site at a bit of a desperate time and it helped get me through so thankyou everyone!
I figured it's time to stop lurking in the shadows and say hello!
I'm an x revert, + finally finally I don't feel bad for saying that, yippee!! freedom.
I'm a dreadful newbie though and don't really know what I'm doing, eek ! giggles
Yeah it's a funny feeling at first! Of course, leaving Islam never felt like an option for us when we were Muslim. And as a Muslim you would have to dare yourself into thinking for yourself, and it would be lonely when you would think something opposite to what the rest of the Muslim community thinks. You never intended to think the opposite! It just popped up when you gave thinking for yourself a try. But when they tell you enough times to stop thinking what you're thinking, you realize that you're not one of them, you're something else...
And if you told them all this they would smile as if they were in the know about something. And if you pressed them they would say they can see how the Shaytaan has got to you. And yes, their devil whispering story fits, but you could make up a million other fantasy stories about what is happening to you and they would all fit. It's possible that the Shaytaan is actually a good guy and his whisperings are merely attempts to rescuse you from the deceptive grasps of Allah. And Shaytaan and Allah aren't really real, they are just fictional humanized puppets used by the real gods who are above them so that us humans could relate to them better.
Of course, both of the above stories are complete fantasy. The only real difference is that the Muslim who tells you the first story is angry, and he is desperate that you would just accept that his fantasy story is true, then keep your mouth and your brain cells firmly shut, and carry on living the way he thinks everybody should live.
