Just kidding.
So I'm not an ex-muslim, though I have been an ex-catholic for the past 5-6 years, and have had several run-ins with Islam over the past few years.
***edit**
Anyway so my main experience with Islam is a more positive (yet still bittersweet) story. Essentially I met a young man who was teetering on the verge of apostacy, though sort of afraid to take the plunge and escape his religion and the strict rule of his parents. So we made a pact to flee to Greece together. Unfortunately I flew to England to meet him, (where he lived -- I lived in Canada) and his parents caught wind of our plans, bribed the airline to cancel our tickets, found us, stole my friend's passport, and eventually threatened my friend that they would harm me unless he went away to Pakistan with them. So he was afraid and went.
Eventually after a month or two they let him return to England, and he stole back his passport and fled to Canada (where I had gone back to). We were married 5 days later. Woo.
It's about 3 years later, though now we're sort of at a standstill in regards to his family. At first they just wanted him to come back (which he did, for about a year unfortunately before leaving for good), but now he lives here permanently and they want us both to have a proper "Muslim" wedding and to live with them. Seeing as we are both now definitely not religious, this isn't going to happen, so basically we're at an impasse. His father won't speak to him, and I am not welcome in their house. Though perhaps it will just take some time...
Oh yah, my husband is z10 btw,
what a cutie. He convinced me to join this forum.
So thats my life story. Nice to meet you all.
