    My point is that although there are lots of things in the world that I would greatly prefer did not happen, the fact is that they are happening, and have been happening for ages, and will continue to happen for ages. This is true regardless of how I feel about them. Basically my emotional reaction, if any, isn't worth a pinch of shit. You can tell yourself your emotional reactions are of great importance, but really they aren't.

    I was being facetious. I tell my sister this exact same thing whenever she just jumps in mid-conversation while I'm talking to someone and goes "ZOMG!! GAZA" and gets all indignant and crazy when we tell her to wait. Like we're personally responsible for dead babies for not wanting to talk about it until after this conversation. The pictures and videos are just too depressing for me to deal with  so why dwell on it? :(
