    Hello everyone~ I'm Mihai from Indonesia, an ex-Muslim atheist since 2012.

    I was born from a muslim family, so that's how I know Islam, learn it, and then doubt it so hard. I live in Indonesia, so it's kind of hard being a closet atheist here. Oh, did I mention I still live with my parents? I am still young, and not really a good idea to be an atheist in your parents home. Fortunately I found some godless friends so they could make "fasting" so much easier in like every Ramadhan.

    I follow my childhood curiosity about god despite what my quran teachers and parents said about god to not ever once doubt him. We are critical being, right? I glad I did it, though. Living life is so much making sense now after I learn more about universe, evolution, how religion exist, several holy books, etc. I realize I'm not a believer anymore after doubt it for so long, and now I have to be more careful about what I do everyday because Indonesia is very religious, you know... I don't have that luxury of posting my own thought on the internet about faith or atheism. Law country, they said.

    Excuse my English, by the way :')

    My way of thinking may be naive, and I'm still learning here. I'm trying so hard to not to be an ignorant person and I refuse to follow something that I don't believe. I grew out of it. The nice thing is, the number of agnostic and atheist is growing in Indonesia. I don't have the statistic to back it up, though. But since I open up to people in my circle, the more like-minded people shared their story to me. Even introduce me to another godless person. It's a good feeling to know that you're not alone in this country.
