    Hey everyone,

    I'm a 24-year-old female ex-muslim from Denmark.

    Like most, my transition from Muslim to non-muslim was gradual. I was 17 when I first admitted to myself that I don't believe in the Islamic god, though (or any other god for that matter). I'm still in the closet as far as my family is concerned.

    I have posted here in the past under a different username that I don't remember. However, I was never really active and I don't even remember my username/pw.

    So, are there any other Danes on here?

    Anyways, feel free to ask if you have any questions! Looking forward to interacting with you guys.  Smiley

    Add thetruth to the list. He also lurks around and there are more than us Tongue Just not so active currently. I'm not an Ex-Muslim though. I was just adopted by the people here.

    Things are alright. When I was younger I fell into a depression because it was difficult to be free and trapped at the same time. On one hand, I can do whatever I want without feeling any guilt or fear of getting bbq'ed in hell. On the other, I have to be really secretive about all my activities because god knows what could happen if my family found out.

    Things are much better now though. I still feel depressed when I think about it too much, but it doesn't affect me much on a daily basis anymore. I'm confused about my future. I want my family in my life and at the same time be able to live a life free of religion, two things that seem mutually exclusive.

     I am not, and have never been, hijabed thankfully. My family is somewhat lax, I don't have to fast, pray, etc. but at the same time they'd go apeshit if they knew about my lifestyle. My brother interferes with my life a lot, which results in endless fights. He's your typical Muslim dane, the type who drinks, has sex, whatever but wouldn't tolerate it if any women in his family did the same.
