I have never had strong beliefs in religion, thanks to wise parents. I have laid claim the being a 'freethinking Zen Buddhist' for about 45 years, but it's more of a philosophy than a religion. I have become interested in Islam purely from what I perceive to be it's wholly negative effects upon the world. To quote Robert Heinlein, “The most preposterous notion that Homo sapiens has ever dreamed up is that the Lord God of Creation, Shaper and Ruler of all the Universes, wants the saccharine adoration of His creatures, can be swayed by their prayers, and becomes petulant if He does not receive this flattery.

I found this forum and it's associated website and have great hopes that it will assist me in understanding what seems to me to be the greatest threat to world civilisation, not to put too fine a point on it. I look forward to the experience.
