YANGON: Myanmar has jailed seven men for lynching 10 Muslim bus passengers in an attack that sparked mass unrest between Buddhists and Muslims in the western state of Rakhine two years ago, authorities said on Tuesday.

The men were each given seven years in jail by Thandwe county court for the murders, which saw the passengers dragged from the vehicle and killed by a mob, an official from the town’s administrative office said.

“I do not know whether they were Buddhists or not but they are the ones who committed the crime,” he said, asking not to be named.

7 years? Fuck me,hardly going to be warning to others. They should rot in jail.

According to the polls only 1.6 % of Americans are athiests. So what gives you the right to call the other 80% morons?'

Wow! Here in pinko liberal Denmark they would have gotten 12 to life depending on circumstances. Premeditated murder on an individual normally gives you 16 years in the slammer. Kill two you get life. The first many years in high-security (less freedom) facilities.
