    Yes.

    Not Harman, but haram, yes.

    Singing and musical instruments.

However you can in religious ceremonies sing - but as female voices are part of their awrah they can't participate - so only male voices. It is called "nasheed".

And a maximum of two daf (tambourine-like) drums.

    Daf punk anyone?

Here - check the elaborate Muhsin Khan translation (you probably have to check it to the left at the site):

the Noble Quran Surah 31 Ayat 6

Digging down into the tafseers (tafseer = "interpretation" (of the (clear) Qur'an) (and hadiths it gets even worse, so don't do that).

Luckily Muslims don't follow Islam Cheesy

WTF indeed... Reading Marwa's post almost made me weep because the same thing has happened to the rest of the Islamic world beyond Arabia. Muslims used to dance, drink, have fun and weren't afraid of the opposite sex (and having sex). Now we've become a bunch of hypocritical prudes with AK47's and endless oil wealth.

I remember my grandfather regaling me with tales of drinking whisky and smoking cigars with fellow Muslims and hobnobbing at parties where both men and women were dressed to kill. That same old man died an Allah-fearing man who took to faith to quell his fears of what awaited him after he died. I just wish he had skipped the religion nonsense and made peace with himself.

Like a lot of things in Islam - some people say it is and some people say it isn't, but the more fundamentalist salafi types will say it is! Allah has made this religion clear for you! lol

it depends on the sect/madhab someone belong to..

a Quranist Muslim will say no, its not haram. same goes to shia islam (cmiiw), sufi islam, ahmadi islam, and some school within sunni islam.

we cant pretend that Islam is one, its already divided into many division even since the day of khulafaur rasyidhin (the 4 shahabah)

Well    dear Paul the Apostle from  Tarsus., forget "VERY CLEAR"  ..nothing is clear to me., neither your opening post is clear nor any of your posts are clear to me.  So to make it clear., you got to tell me more..

1). you have to tell me/give me the link of where you heard that "in Islam music is haram" and what are Islamic scriptural basis of such utterances.

2),  you have to tel me whether   Paul the Apostle from  Tarsus. was CIRCUMCISED OR NOT...

    ◄ Leviticus 12:3

New International Version:  On the eighth day the boy is to be circumcised.

New Living Translation: On the eighth day the boy's foreskin must be circumcised.

New American Standard Bible: 'On the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.

King James Bible:  And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.

Holman Christian Standard Bible: The flesh of his foreskin must be circumcised on the eighth day.

International Standard Version:  On the eighth day, the flesh of the baby's foreskin is to be circumcised.

Well, it's something I read earlier on this forum so I sought clarification. And, as far as I know, Paul was circumcised but opposed it as a tenant for Christianity.

Saudi has one. Women aren't allowed and the men have to write poems about allah and mo if I recall correctly.

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

There are countless of "talent" shows in the Arab world. The ones I'm aware of (and which I have occasionally watched) are games that group together contestants from all kinds of countries, Saudi included. They're basically the same as their American/English counterparts, except they sing in Arabic most of the time.

Music..Dance .. are the essential part of every culture irrespective of their religions and religious background ., In fact I say The life is the product of Music and Dance of the nature without which there is no life...

To say Muslims folks born in Islam had no dance.. no music is wrong. It is only 19th century IDIOTS OF ISLAM putting their heads in to the fucking sands of Arabia and ass up in to the sky say such nonsense and  made the music and dance as haram
