Evening everyone

Thought I'd better say hello before flooding other posts with replies!

I'll do a proper intro soon. Not got the energy at the moment - all this doubt and... stuff... buzzing round my head is exhausting, though it's great to know there are others who have experienced, and are experiencing, the same thing. I'm a convert of 10 years. Not quite an ex Muslim yet, though I get closer every Ramadhan and I think it won't be long now. Had a sausage roll from Gregg's earlier.. bloody delicious!

Currently reading the translation of My Ordeal With the Qur'an.. great work going on there, can't thank Abu Ali and everyone who's doing this enough!

Also listening to the White Stripes at the moment. Have been forcing myself to not listen to music for toooo long.

Welcome to the forum,

I was a convert for almost 10 years as well before finally leaving. It was around this time last year that I started to listen to music. Heard an awesome song from my playlist yesterday that reminded me, but last year I had to sneak around with my mp3 player freaking out I would be found out

I personally don't like pork in general, but once in a while you come across some excellent swine product you just love. Had smoked ham with my sandwich, it was delicious.

Yes this seems to be common, amongst those who 'migrate for Allah', rather than for, say, marriage. There is a definite zeal that goes hand in hand with being a devoted revert, or newly-devoted born muslim, which in my case led to following the orthadox/Salafi/Ahlal Hadith way of thinking. Trouble is, the deeper you look, the more questions arise. And although on face value, the answers fit within the framework of Islam, they can take some sweeping under the carpet to actually believe.
