How would (and could) you create a universe when you don't even know all the variables in this one?

Well, at CERN they're busy recreating the conditions of the big bang. I tried to imagine taking it further and creating a new universe. What would happen if a new universe was born inside our current universe I don't know. Though I suppose it would depend on the physics of that universe?

It's a question more rooted in science fiction, but I am curious about the reality of such an idea. Could you cage a baby universe? Does it have any practical applications? Random question I thought I'd ask. Grin

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

No Man's Sky is the latest virtual attempt.
There are various facilities being built worldwide that are attempting to cage the power of a star. That was probably unthinkable a century ago. If that can be done, why not?
I am sure some physics minded person will jump in here. I am interested to read a response.
