     OP - July 19, 2014, 09:10 AM

    hi
    my story is simple
i was an on/off type of muslim ie in practice
i started to watch muslim atheist debates out of curiosity
which lead me to the atheist experience
this led made me to question the whole god being invisible thing

2 years down the line of questioning islam

i decided to leave islam as it doesnt meet the burden of proof of a god existing and islam being the truth etc

so now i have joined this site for further development i guess

Welcome home. Your mind is curious, your heart brimming with doubt and your soul ringing with a skeptic fevour...you truly are one of us.

But tell us more as to what EXACTLY bought you to the apostates house. Why are you standing at the door? Why are you knocking so timidly? Why not smash the door down and rest your feet? There is a place open for you...if only you open up yourself.

    thanks for the warm welcome

    gosh where to begin

logic escapes most people especially from a pak household

if people actually took time and questioned their beliefs they would surely realise that no gods exists,

they are wasting their time and praying to air

but without the internet i wouldn't have become an atheist thats for sure as im pretty anti social and avoid parties and non muslims since im from a conservative pak household

^ It's hard enough as an ex convert to merge back into western society and make friends with non muslims again..  i found it tough, i had absolutely nothing in common with anyone anymore not even my childhood best friend,  so i can't imagine how it is coming from a conservative muslim household and wanting to branch out   : )

Welcome! parrot It's true that most (especially conservative pakistani households) give no room for any curiosity which, in turn, fuels curiosity:)

the only reason im here is due to my long lonely security shifts otherwise i would neither have the time or energy to investigate islam or atheism in general

so woohoo to those unadulterated work shifts for my transition

now how to tell the wife and family about my change of heart lol

I am getting the impression that there are actually a huge amount of people who no longer believe, or pretend to or various permutations.  We do though assume there are more noisy types than there are - like goalies making themselves big for penalties.

Not at all sure how to test this - but i thought for example mosque attendance in January early morning is low!

There are many reasons why people  dont question their beliefs even if they find some things to be non-sensical.
It would be nice to make a poll and find out which was the main  reason that held  back those who were reluctant to put into question Islam.
