    Just watching the 5 first minutes and I'm appalled. We have ignorant Islamists who call every non-Muslim pedophiles (IRONY!), alcoholics and whatnot. And then we have extreme far-right groups who are nothing but ignorant xenophobes.

    I think it's about the type (and quantity) of immigration drastically changing during the 90's, in combination withthe  financial crisis (both the one we had durin the 90's, and now the latest 2008 melt down). No jobs, no security, social problems, segregation.... what could possibly go wrong, right?

    The new generation takes human rights and democracy for granted. The memory of WWII is gone, it's easy to make similar mistakes if you forget the past and don't know any better.

    Yeah it's the old "those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it". I was thinking of the type and quantity of immigration. It's more difficult to be a racist twat if there's nobody around to be racist against. If there are financial meltdowns and you bring new people into the mix, they are inevitably seen as stealing scarce jobs from people who already lived there. It's not exactly fair on the new arrivals, but it always seems to happen and is true to an extent, in that more people in an economy that isn't growing means fewer jobs to go round, so any that are held by new arrivals will effectively mean the longer term residents are missing out. There's a natural tendency to see this as "them" taking "our" jobs.
