I did not believe in mermaid, however I really really really wished they did exist, because that would've been awesome (if they looked something like in the Disney version).
And even though I just accepted all these funny stories about winged horses and whatnot, I never really reflected what it meant. I was supposed to believe it, so I just did. But I wouldn't call it believe because I would have never ever mentioned it to non-Muslims and would be very ashamed to admit that this is what Islam teaches.
Now that I think about it, it becomes more and more clear to me that the only thing that really kept me pushing towards Islam was the human-god relationship. All the other stuff just came along "for free"...

"Okay, I am a non muslim, try to convince me stealing is wrong" as if you're not a muslim you can't be a good person

It's so obvious from all the examples that have been posted on the site, that these guys weasel their way out of discussions as soon as they meet someone who actually questions them and doesn't accept everything at face value. So if you had responded "wow, what an interesting and thought-provoking aya!", he would've stayed with you and continued in order to convert you. But since you were, to say the least, under-whelmed, they are not interested. That site is not about teaching others about their religion, it's just to convert as many as possible with their dishonest attempts. "Not all ex-Muslims should be killed". Oh, really?
