     OP - April 18, 2014, 10:13 PM

I followed a link on a onereason.org (iera) webpage to http://www.edialogue.org/, where you can speak to dawah boys 24 hours a day.

The conversation I had is below. Overall, an extremely standard affair. Opens with 'science in the quran', moves on to general gibberish, and ends with threats of hell,  disappointment that I am not a sincere truth seaker, and then being cut off.

[me (n)] why doesnt islam have any evidence?
    A.Nasser (10:15:59) : Hello & Welcome to edialogue.org
    A.Nasser (10:16:08) : The quran is evidence

    n (10:16:30) : quran is a book
    A.Nasser (10:17:05) : did u read it
    n (10:17:11) : yes
    A.Nasser (10:17:42) : ok watch this
    A.Nasser (10:17:45) : http://www.scienceislam.com/goodies/video_popup.php?vid=2

n (10:17:59) : i know all the examples of alleged science
n (10:18:06) : none of them stand up to scrutiny
    A.Nasser (10:18:57) : what is your question?
n (10:19:24) : why believe in a religion that has no evidence (that can withstand scrutiny)?
    A.Nasser (10:19:59) : you & your creation is
    a miracle

n (10:20:47) : i dont agree, but more importantly, that doesnt get you to islam
n (10:20:56) : christians say the same thing as proof of christianity
A.Nasser (10:21:24) : christianity is a true religion from god
    n (10:21:34) : dont lie
    A.Nasser (10:21:32) : also judaism
    n (10:21:38) : u dont believe that
n (10:21:51) : you believe there is only one religion acceptable to god
A.Nasser (10:21:58) : the bible was revealed by Allah
    A.Nasser (10:22:02) : Jesus is true

    n (10:22:07) : no it wasnt
    n (10:22:11) : the injeel was
    n (10:22:13) : not the bible
A.Nasser (10:22:11) : the Torah was revealed by Allah
    A.Nasser (10:22:14) : Moses it true

    n (10:22:22) : both have been corrupted
n (10:22:26) : dont tell me things you dont believe
A.Nasser (10:22:27) : Abraham is atrue messenger of Allah
    A.Nasser (10:22:41) : I believe in Moses and Jesus

n (10:22:47) : you believe ISLAM was the religion taught by jesus
    n (10:22:49) : not christianity
n (10:22:56) : dont tell me that christianity is a true religion
    n (10:22:58) : i know thats a lie
    n (10:23:02) : you dont believe it
n (10:23:37) : you believe in musa and isa
    n (10:23:40) : not moses and jesus
A.Nasser (10:24:10) : I believe in Isa that is his true name not latinized name
n (10:24:29) : either way, you believe that jesus was teaching islam
    n (10:24:31) : and not christianity
n (10:24:41) : and you dont believe that christianity is a true religion
n (10:25:22) : every time i look for evidence for islam, i get lies
n (10:25:41) : like all those supposed examples of scientific foreknowledge too
    A.Nasser (10:25:41) : ok
    A.Nasser (10:25:47) : do u believe in God

    n (10:25:52) : no
A.Nasser (10:26:05) : then you do not belive in christianity?
    n (10:26:13) : no
    A.Nasser (10:27:46) : ok
A.Nasser (10:27:56) : you thing you are here by accident

n (10:28:35) : i dont think that is the right choice of words, because it implies a state different to one that was intended
n (10:28:44) : i dont think there was any intended state at all
A.Nasser (10:29:33) : you think the world universe and what is in it came by some chemical reactions etc...
n (10:30:07) : i believe there was no intention or design in the creatino of the universe
A.Nasser (10:30:21) : then how did it came about
    n (10:30:28) : dunno
A.Nasser (10:30:38) : ok do you want to know
n (10:31:02) : of course, but nobody knows right now
n (10:31:08) : so i will just have to wait and see
A.Nasser (10:31:43) : ok what are the chances of drawing the picture of monaliza by throwing colors on the wall
    n (10:32:05) : dunno. do the maths
    A.Nasser (10:32:32) : zero
    n (10:32:41) : prove it then
A.Nasser (10:32:52) : how about your living body and soul
    n (10:33:07) : prove there is a soul
A.Nasser (10:33:22) : what happened when you sleep
    n (10:33:50) : brain is housekeeping
A.Nasser (10:33:54) : where does your soul go when you die
    n (10:34:06) : what soul?
A.Nasser (10:34:18) : what happened when you die?
    A.Nasser (10:34:35) : call it self
    A.Nasser (10:34:38) : or spirit

n (10:35:01) : some component of your body has become injured of deteriorated to such an extent that in can no longer perform a function necessary for life
    A.Nasser (10:35:12) : ok
A.Nasser (10:35:18) : let me explain to you
    A.Nasser (10:35:36) : when you were a child you have a child's body
A.Nasser (10:35:49) : when you grow you body change
A.Nasser (10:36:00) : but you are the same person

n (10:36:15) : yes but with shorter telomeres
A.Nasser (10:36:11) : ie. your soul remain the same
A.Nasser (10:36:20) : but your body constantly changees

n (10:36:36) : so the soul is your personality?
A.Nasser (10:37:38) : when your soul leaves the body permanently, you die
n (10:38:19) : but how come the soul leaves the body at EXACTLY the same time as some vital to life function of the body also fails?
n (10:38:26) : just a coincidence that it happens at the same time?
A.Nasser (10:39:08) : this is done by the angels, who serve the creator
A.Nasser (10:39:53) : some people are badly injured due to teribble accidents but survive
    A.Nasser (10:39:56) : and others die

n (10:40:24) : nobody has died without having a physical failure of their body
A.Nasser (10:40:57) : yes, our creator created reasons for the soul to leave the body
n (10:41:14) : but there is always a physical reason for death
    A.Nasser (10:41:29) : sometimes tiny reasons
n (10:41:50) : why cant the soul leave the body without their being a physical reason
A.Nasser (10:42:10) : ok let me show you someone dying without reason
    A.Nasser (10:43:49) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xli-en3-3Ik

n (10:44:53) : and the proof that there was no reason?
    A.Nasser (10:45:16) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfdcsWyCwZ4
n (10:46:11) : and the proof that there was no reason?
    A.Nasser (10:46:08) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSZpPMg9Mpo
    A.Nasser (10:46:17) : ok

    n (10:46:27) : second one was a faint anyway
    A.Nasser (10:46:31) : think about the following:
n (10:46:47) : i have seen the first one before
A.Nasser (10:46:45) : The Sun give warmth and life to the land without effort from our side or electricity bill, and the rain comes down from the sky, Air is all around you, you breath it, and the earth gives you the fruits as soon as you plant the seed, all without any effort or skill.
    n (10:47:09) : he had heart problem
A.Nasser (10:47:20) : More….. And the day for you to go-around and seek for your life & needs, the night follows the day so you can sleep and rest, you did not create the night nor the day but comes from God as a mercy to you without any effort from your-end.
n (10:47:35) : yes, and a puddle of water put no effort into the pothole that it finds itself in
n (10:47:52) : no. we evolved to this planet
n (10:47:58) : we adapted to night and day., and all the rest
A.Nasser (10:47:59) : All these things were not created by man, but he found it in the universe without any effort from him.
n (10:48:04) : you have it the wrong way around
A.Nasser (10:48:19) : Doesn’t this deserve acknowledgement, Thanks to God for the blessing of the universe who harnessed it for the service of man?
    n (10:48:28) : no
n (10:48:40) : its not for our service
A.Nasser (10:48:40) : that is why you are called infidel
    n (10:48:45) : it existed before us
n (10:48:48) : and we adapted to it
    n (10:48:57) : why because im educated?
n (10:49:04) : ill take that as a compliment then
A.Nasser (10:49:33) : God will continue to provide you all his bounties until you die
n (10:49:53) : but until you prove any of this, its pointless even saying
A.Nasser (10:49:59) : but after death you will be punished for your ungreatfullness
n (10:50:12) : until you prove that we did not adapt to the evironment, and that god provided it for us
n (10:50:21) : why bother even mentioning it
A.Nasser (10:50:29) : do you want to learn, are u a truth seeker
    n (10:50:46) : learn what?
    A.Nasser (10:50:51) : the truth
n (10:51:09) : but you dont seem to have any of it
A.Nasser (10:51:18) : there is no compulsion in religion
    n (10:51:32) : thats good then
n (10:51:38) : allah wont punish me afterall
A.Nasser (10:51:38) : you can go on living without faith
    n (10:51:50) : i know i can
A.Nasser (10:51:48) : but be ready for the consequences
    n (10:51:59) : im ready
    A.Nasser (10:52:30) : ok I am busy now

"but be ready for the consequences"

Every single Muslim I've ever talked with, when I was a Muslim and when I was a kafir/murtad, who mentioned hell.... it's like they take joy in "just so you know, you gonna end up there". They feel some kind of sick satisfaction about "knowing" something we other non-believers don't know. Have noticed it with other religious people as well. It's disturbing.

^ Yep, it seems to be like that nowadays. When did it change from the rhetoric of, 'only Allah can judge each person and only he knows who ends up in heaven and hell'?

I think the attitude has always been present among religious people in general. Disbelievers "chose" to burn in hell/suffer through The End/seize to exist while the faithful take pleasure in eternal life, because we didn't believe the truth that was so obvious. Hard to understand then why there's thousands of different religions in the world. Roll Eyes

Perhaps one of the reasons behind this attitude is that these people see others around them who live seemingly normal and happy lives. They do and experience normal and pleasurable things, while the "believers" follow a rigid set of rules. Where does the "it's hotter in hell" comment stem from, do you think? From my own observation (and conversations with Muslim women), even the most devout Muslimah often dislikes the hijab. I've even heard some rigid Salafi sisters express jealousy over uncovered women, despite the fact that they've covered up out of "free choice" (or else you'll be hanged by your hair, naked and burned, tortured for an unknown period of time in the deepest hellfire).

I.Dahrooj (01:18:24) : i would like to tell you something that i believe
qtian (01:18:49) : why do you still rely on falsafah and kalam for dawah?

I.Dahrooj (01:19:49) : because to be exmuslim , you have to be muslim before

    I.Dahrooj (01:20:10) : i doubt it
qtian (01:20:39) : Your doubt doesn't change my proposition
qtian (01:20:45) : so doubt all you want
    I.Dahrooj (01:20:37) : Muslim is not just a word
    qtian (01:21:01) : neither is ex-muslim
qtian (01:21:21) : i can play your semantic game too dahrooj

    I.Dahrooj (01:21:48) : any way

    I.Dahrooj (01:21:52) : go ahead
qtian (01:22:17) : What current techniques do you incorporate in your dawah?
    I.Dahrooj (01:22:02) : Smiley shoot
qtian (01:22:27) : is it the old blend of falsafah & science
qtian (01:22:29) : or something new?
I.Dahrooj (01:23:06) : I am here to introduce Islam simply
qtian (01:23:28) : Ok thanks for the clarification
    qtian (01:23:33) : that's all I wanted to know
I.Dahrooj (01:23:21) : as pure and clear as Quran and authentic sunna
qtian (01:23:38) : thank you for taking the time to speak to me

My guy got frustrated that I didn't let him control the topic of conversation, even though they ask you to tell them what topics you want to discuss?!?

Dawah people tend to fall into one of two categories.

They are deliberately lying and speaking half truths in order to get people to convert to islam. In this case there is no point in talking to them.

They are extremely deluded and/or ignorant in which case it is also useless to talk to them.

These dawah people's claims should be debunked and posted on blogs and videos but trying to have an actual conversation with them is a waste of time.

In my opinion a life without curiosity is not a life worth living

The old "you were never a Muslim to begin with"-argument. Makes me so fucking angry.

i just really want to hear something that i havent heard a million times before. I try to goad them a bit so that they give me their most obscure argument. I want them to try to catch me off guard. give me a challenge!

I had even seen the specific video he directed me to of some old arab guy dying on camera, which is apparently supposed to prove that allah can take the soul any time he likes, even if there is no physical reason for you to die.

    Islam

    AzizIn has joined the chat.

AzizIn (05:37:34) : Welcome to Edialogue.org. May peace be on you.

this is an international site for islam information
here we are telling non Muslim about islam

    AzizIn (05:38:08) : hello

    Quod Sum Eris (05:38:36) : Assalamualaikum brother/sister

    AzizIn (05:39:12) : wailkumasslam brother

Quod Sum Eris (05:39:47) : I hope you're not in the UK, considering the time

AzizIn (05:39:29) : May Allah bless you in your faith in Islam. May Allah give you all the happiness and peace in this world and a beautiful heaven in here after.

Quod Sum Eris (05:40:22) : I actually don't have faith in islam, hence the reason for going to a non muslim information chat, but thaknk you for the thought Smiley

Quod Sum Eris (05:40:34) : *thank

AzizIn (05:40:46) : what religion you follow

Quod Sum Eris (05:41:08) : None

AzizIn (05:41:56) : brother can i brief you about islam

Quod Sum Eris (05:42:36) : Sure, that's why I'm here. By the way, are you a brother or a sister?

    AzizIn (05:42:26) : ok

Quod Sum Eris (05:42:52) : Just so I know how to address you

AzizIn (05:42:51) : The name of the religion is Islam, which comes from an Arabic root word meaning "peace" and "submission."

AzizIn (05:43:10) : Islam teaches that one can only find peace in one's life by submitting to Almighty God (Allah) in heart, soul and deed.

AzizIn (05:43:24) : The same Arabic root word gives us "As salaam u alaykum," ("Peace be with you"), the universal Muslim greeting.

AzizIn (05:43:39) : when you finish reading pls say ok to continue more

Quod Sum Eris (05:44:31) : Okay. I actually know the basics. Root of the word islam, five pillars, all of that. I've read the quran and a number of hadiths (too many to count Cheesy)

    AzizIn (05:45:07) : masha Allah

AzizIn (05:45:16) : may Allah bless you brother

Quod Sum Eris (05:45:38) : And you

AzizIn (05:45:40) : i request you to start practicing it also now

AzizIn (05:46:09) : you can join our new muslim accadamy on line free also to learmn islam

Quod Sum Eris (05:46:28) : Well that's the thing. If I was convinced of the religion I wouldn't be here on a chat for non muslims to learn mor about the faith

Quod Sum Eris (05:46:38) : *more

Quod Sum Eris (05:46:56) : I wouldn't practise islam now, or convert. Seems cheap when I have doubts

AzizIn (05:47:11) : pls ask brother

Quod Sum Eris (05:49:45) : Well, my background is catholic. Considering how close catholosism and islam is, you'd think it would be an easy conversion. Being unsatisfied with Christianity, I made some attempts to learn about other faith and currently class myself as an atheist, though not like you may think. I'm very happy to say their could be a god or gods, but the thing is, a theistic god is hard for me to fathom. Deist I can understand, but when I think of the vastness of creation, I simply cannot bring myself to believe that an all powerful being would give a shit about me personally. I just can't do it. I also have great difficulty believing
     in an afterlife.

AzizIn (05:51:30) : so basically your confusion about one GOD can do every thing and the same GOD will ask us in here after

Quod Sum Eris (05:53:14) : Not really. It's pretty much what I said. I find it difficult to imagine an all powerful being caring about what I do as an individual. I don't take the time to learn about the individual traits of insects. I imagine to a god, I would be far, far removed from even an insect

AzizIn (05:55:17) : Think about this:

If there is a creation, there must be a Creator

Quod Sum Eris (05:55:50) : As I said, I can understand a deistic outlook

AzizIn (05:55:33) : If there is a Creator, He must be the Sustainer

AzizIn (05:55:49) : yes i am coming to one GOD

    AzizIn (05:55:52) : pls wait

Quod Sum Eris (05:56:11) : Sure

AzizIn (05:56:19) : If He is the sole Creator/Sustainer -- He must be ONE.

AzizIn (05:56:32) : God must be one. Otherwise we would see great differences and competition between the gods if there were more than one -- Alone.

Quod Sum Eris (05:57:11) : I understand that. As I said, what I have a hard time grasping is a theistic god. Diest I can actually see much more easily

AzizIn (05:57:23) : if there were more than one God, they would dispute with one another, each god trying to fulfill his will against the will of the other gods.

Quod Sum Eris (05:57:57) : I'm not talking about more than one god...

AzizIn (05:58:09) : pls read this verse from quran

AzizIn (05:58:14) : "If there were, in the heavens And the earth, other gods Besides Allah, there would Have been confusion in both! But glory to Allah, The Lord of the Throne: (High is He) above What they attribute to Him!" [Al-Qur’an 21:22]

Quod Sum Eris (05:58:42) : Brother (or sister) are you familiar with a verse in the quran which says (I'm paraphrasing) allah has not created us with two hearts?

AzizIn (05:59:10) : its one of the signs of Allah

Quod Sum Eris (05:59:38) : Well, that's the thing, if I can just explain

AzizIn (05:59:25) : to create such a wondrful pump in our body

Quod Sum Eris (06:01:19) : I personally view that as a metaphor, not as a literal thing. When I read that, I viewed it as allah saying you cannot be two people, you cannot believe something you don't believe, etc. That's what stops me from beng a muslim. As I said, I can understand a deist view of god, but theist I struggle with. I cannot at the same time view the quran and by extension islam as the work of an all powerful all knowing
god while at the same time seeing flaws in it

Quod Sum Eris (06:02:20) : I know you said I should be a muslim but converting when I'm not sure it's true seems wrong

Quod Sum Eris (06:02:42) : I woudlnt' become a Christian if I didn't think Jesus was the son of god

    Quod Sum Eris (06:02:50) : *wouldn't

AzizIn (06:03:05) : brother lets see what is our purpose of creation

AzizIn (06:03:13) : pls give me few mints

Quod Sum Eris (06:03:32) : That's the thing, I'm not convinced their is one

    AzizIn (06:03:18) : ok

Quod Sum Eris (06:03:36) : Sure

AzizIn (06:04:20) : Allah says in the quran

AzizIn (06:04:36) : 67:1. Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion, and He is Able to do all things.
     67:2. Who has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed. And He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving;

AzizIn (06:04:50) : so there is test for us

AzizIn (06:05:14) : the primary thing for us to submitt or obey to the instructions of our creator

AzizIn (06:05:25) : it is available in Quran

AzizIn (06:05:41) : 51:56. And I (Allah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone). AL Quran

AzizIn (06:06:01) : Allah has craeted animals also
     ]

AzizIn (06:06:13) : but they dont have free choice

AzizIn (06:06:32) : but Allah craeted humas with a free will choice

AzizIn (06:06:38) : this is the test for us

Quod Sum Eris (06:07:00) : Only if allah is real and the quran is true. There is something I would like to ask that you've just reminded me of. It's a question I have from reading the quran and hadiths that has been a huge burden and I would like to discuss it if that's possible?

AzizIn (06:07:20) : Allah sent prophets and HIS instruction manuals to follow

Quod Sum Eris (06:07:51) : Would it be possible to ask about a questin I have?

Quod Sum Eris (06:07:57) : *questin

AzizIn (06:07:41) : as a muslim follower i need few basic things to follow

Quod Sum Eris (06:08:01) : *question

    AzizIn (06:07:47) : wait

Quod Sum Eris (06:08:07) : Sure

    AzizIn (06:07:51) : wait

AzizIn (06:08:12) : the basic beleifs which are 6 hope you know them

AzizIn (06:08:27) : and the 5 pillars of islam to practice

AzizIn (06:08:40) : its enough for me to start practicing

AzizIn (06:08:50) : i can improve it more also
     ]

AzizIn (06:09:10) : so the scholors learn in depth the quran nad hadeeth

    AzizIn (06:09:11) : ok

Quod Sum Eris (06:09:46) : Well, as I said there was a question I wanted to discuss

AzizIn (06:09:36) : now pls tell me is there any thing i could benefit you so far

Quod Sum Eris (06:10:30) : As I've said several times there's a question
I have since reading the quran and hadiths that you've reminded me of

    AzizIn (06:10:33) : sir

    AzizIn (06:10:34) : pls

AzizIn (06:10:38) : one by one

    AzizIn (06:10:39) : ok

AzizIn (06:10:52) : lets finish from our first thing

Quod Sum Eris (06:11:16) : Sure

AzizIn (06:11:01) : about purpose of our life

AzizIn (06:11:04) : is that ok

Quod Sum Eris (06:11:25) : I hopeI didn't come across as rude

Quod Sum Eris (06:12:18) : *hope

AzizIn (06:12:28) : r u ok wit our purpose of creation

Quod Sum Eris (06:12:54) : Okay

AzizIn (06:12:40) : we are here for test with our free will

AzizIn (06:12:46) : is this ok with you

    Quod Sum Eris (06:13:18) :
I don't think we have free will islamically speaking

    AzizIn (06:13:20) : it is

AzizIn (06:13:50) : 2:256:There is no compulsion in religion. Verily, the Right Path has become distinct from the wrong path. Whoever disbelieves in Taghut(false Gods) and believes in Allah, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower. Al Quran

Quod Sum Eris (06:16:02) : When I was reading (I think the quran but I may be wrong) it said that our fates are predetermined. That allah creates our souls, tells an angel to write down everything (if you will be a muslim or a non muslim lie me), if you will be happy or sad, if you will enter heaven or hell. Allah decides all this before we're born and then breaths our soul into our mother's wombs. So that right there says we don't have free will. Allah has decided before we were even born. Nothing happens except by a
     llah's will

AzizIn (06:16:39) : brother i am a associate prof in universit

Quod Sum Eris (06:17:07) : Col

Quod Sum Eris (06:17:10) : *cool

AzizIn (06:16:53) : i know my students very well

AzizIn (06:17:20) : and i can predict all my students who will pass and who will fail

AzizIn (06:17:40) : but i still need to take the test to make it justice

AzizIn (06:17:58) : GOD knoledge is more than any thing
     ]

AzizIn (06:18:14) : its HIS knoledge wich HE tells

    AzizIn (06:18:15) : ok

Quod Sum Eris (06:18:46) : Well, your students could surprise you. With the greatest respect, you're not a god and I don't see how it's comparable
     .

AzizIn (06:18:42) : i hope you need to just rlax and throw all negative things to understand this

    AzizIn (06:18:43) : ok

AzizIn (06:18:59) : i just gave you example

AzizIn (06:19:04) : you are not reading

AzizIn (06:19:11) : you are preoccupied

    AzizIn (06:19:14) : i am sorry

Quod Sum Eris (06:19:59) : I am reading. I promise.

Quod Sum Eris (06:20:30) : As a professor, I'm assuming you're a learned man/woman. So let me ask you something

Quod Sum Eris (06:20:58) : Allah is the most merciful. The quran says (if I remember correctly) that allah has more mercy than a mother. Correct?

AzizIn (06:22:25) : brother agin you are jumping

AzizIn (06:22:38) : lets finish from one thing you asked

AzizIn (06:22:48) : we can not go at random

Quod Sum Eris (06:23:05) : Well I do have a point to make, but sure, we can come back to io

Quod Sum Eris (06:23:07) : *it

AzizIn (06:23:02) : its not human ligic

AzizIn (06:23:15) : if at all you like to get convinced

Quod Sum Eris (06:24:18) : Okay. Your point being that I can't understand the mind of god so I shouldn't try? Or something else?

Quod Sum Eris (06:25:19) : I'm sorry if I'm coming across the wrong way brother. I just have so many doubts

Quod Sum Eris (06:25:30) : So amny things don't make sense

Quod Sum Eris (06:25:34) : *many

AzizIn (06:25:37) : brother quran verse has reference and context

AzizIn (06:25:47) : it need to understand in that

AzizIn (06:26:10) : you can not take one verse and just make your point

AzizIn (06:26:33) : i hope if you are accadamics than you understand this

    AzizIn (06:26:39) : any how

AzizIn (06:27:01) : i suggest you to see this vedio for few mints for life after death

AzizIn (06:27:17) : becos this will save lot of our time in writing

    AzizIn (06:27:18) : ok

    AzizIn (06:27:28) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ILB5uXAikU

Quod Sum Eris (06:28:35) : I know, I've read them. But it doesn't make sense. For example, allah is the most merciful, and yet he creates some of us to be tortured for eternity. Here's a situation. Let's say there's something in your house you don't like. It offends you. Let's also say you have the power of a god. Would you A) throw away the thing you didn't like or give it to charity, or B) bring it to life, give it intelligence so it can understand what's happening, enable it to feel pain, and torture it forever and ever and ever? Which is more merciful? And if I convert to islam, I know that my friends, my family, my own mother o is the most wonderful person in the world will be TORTURED forever! Sometimes I think I'd rather go to hell, because I cannot imagine being in heaven while good people are punished unjustly. How could I do this? How could I say allah is the most merciful when he tortures my mother for
the crime of believing the wrong thing? It's evil

Quod Sum Eris (06:30:18) : I really think that. I really think I would rather go to hell than go to heaven and know my wonderful mother is being tortured for all eternity for the crime of beliving the wrong thing which allah decided to make her believe in the first place. It doesn't make sense to me. How is this god merciful? How is allah worth worshipping? This shit keeps me up at night

Quod Sum Eris (06:30:32) : It's why I'm on this chat at 6:30 in the bloody morning

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.

    AzizIn (06:30:25) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ILB5uXAikU

AzizIn (06:30:36) : pls see this vedio for few mints

AzizIn (06:30:43) : its very simple

Quod Sum Eris (06:31:02) : The firt or the second?

    AzizIn (06:30:45) : ok

Quod Sum Eris (06:31:05) : *first

    AzizIn (06:30:50) : i am on line

    AzizIn (06:30:57) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ILB5uXAikU

Quod Sum Eris (06:31:14) : Lol no offense

    AzizIn (06:31:01) : this one

Quod Sum Eris (06:31:25) : I'll look now. Thank you brother

    AzizIn (06:31:20) : i am waiting

    Quod Sum Eris (06:31:54) : It's loading

Quod Sum Eris (06:47:41) : Brother I've watched the video. It doesn't really have anything to do with what I asked. I'm not asking about robbers of rapists or serial killer or Hitler murdering six million jews. I asked about my mother. My mother doesn't believe in an afterlife. She believes that when she dies that's it. The end. She will cease to exist. And yet she would give her life for me without hesitation, with no promise of reward. She would do this because I'm her child. She loves me. She's given her entire life to raise me to be a good moral person. I alspo have friends who are atheists. Not like I am, where I can see a deistic/prime over god, but no god at all. I don't think because there's no god her life is meaningless. She's a new mother figuring out how to be a parent and both her and the father are devoted to their child. I don't understand how this video has anything to do with my doubts and fears

Quod Sum Eris (06:49:18) : Also it seems slightly racist that a non muslim would automatically be a thief. Ther are plenty of
     muslim criminals

AzizIn (06:50:08) : its a example for explanation

Quod Sum Eris (06:50:42) : It seems like an explinatin for a question different from the one I asked

Quod Sum Eris (06:50:51) : *explanation

Quod Sum Eris (06:52:44) : Also the points about mortality is just nonsense. Morals are ingrained into us on an evolutionary level because we're a social species. It's not just humans. In a wolf pack, if one wolf is to sick or old to hunt other wolves will hunt for it, sometimes chewing the food to make it easier for the sick/old wolf to eat. Primates will care for and guide other primates in their group who may be blind or have some other kind of disability. Dogs will run into a burning building to alert it's sleeping owners, or drag out a child.

AzizIn (06:52:37) : do you get convinced there is a after life

Quod Sum Eris (06:53:55) : Plenty of atheists display moral actions. They do this because as human beings we have empathy. If they see a fellow human being and they are in pain, and they and others understand this. It's the basis of morality. They understand it and they empathise with them as much as they can because they are not psychopaths
     .

Quod Sum Eris (06:54:25) : When they see a fellow human being suffering they are
moved to try and offer comfort.

Quod Sum Eris (06:54:43) : I'm going to quote my question because you seem to have missed it

    Quod Sum Eris (06:55:00) :
It's evil

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

Quod Sum Eris (06:56:16) : I need an answer to this, not a video of some racist going on about thieves and Hitler

AzizIn (06:56:58) : brother you have a chance today to get the best from Allah

AzizIn (06:57:17) : O my servants who have transgressed against their souls! Do not despair of the mercy of Allah: For Allah forgives all sins, for He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. Turn to your Lord (in repentance) and bow to His Will, before the penalty comes upon you. Thereafter, you shall not be helped. (39:53-54).

    AzizIn (06:57:19) : ok

AzizIn (06:57:28) : start new life

AzizIn (06:57:40) : why bother about hell fire

AzizIn (06:57:52) : insha allah you will be in heaven'

Quod Sum Eris (06:59:03) : How can I be happy in heaven knowing my friends, my family, my mother are being tortured? Please please please read what I've typed and give me an answer. If you can't, just tell me you can't answer it and I'll leave

AzizIn (06:59:22) : you can help them here

Quod Sum Eris (06:59:51) : How?

AzizIn (06:59:37) : you change and try to change them

Quod Sum Eris (07:00:03) : How can I change them?

AzizIn (07:00:03) : every body will be responsible for their action

    AzizIn (07:00:06) : brother
     ]

Quod Sum Eris (07:00:31) : But allah has already decided

AzizIn (07:00:24) : let me ask you one question only

    AzizIn (07:00:27) : wait

Quod Sum Eris (07:00:46) : How can that be true when nothing happens accept by Allah's will?

Quod Sum Eris (07:01:01) : Before w're born allah decides these things

AzizIn (07:00:56) : who is the person you love most in this world

Quod Sum Eris (07:01:16) : I'm not a god. I can't commit shirk and go against the will of allah

    AzizIn (07:01:00) : pls awnser

AzizIn (07:01:17) : is it your mother or wife or children

Quod Sum Eris (07:03:01) : I don't have a wife or children. As for who I love the most, I don't know how to answer that. I love my family. But when I say family I don't classify that as blood alone. To me family is more than biology. There are men and women in my life who are not my blood, but they are my family. Family is the ties that bind. Bonds of trust and loyalty maintained and strengthened year after year. Family is comfort in times of sorrow and laughter in times of joy. It's selflessness. It's having someone who will go out of their way to be there for you if you need them. Some are theists. Some are deists. Some are atheists
. All of them are wonderful people I would give my life for.

AzizIn (07:03:18) : you just said

AzizIn (07:03:35) : you can not be happy when your loved one are in hel

    AzizIn (07:03:38) : hell

Quod Sum Eris (07:04:06) : How could anyone?

Quod Sum Eris (07:04:36) : Unless I have a lobotomy or something so I don't care, and if that happens I won't even be me

AzizIn (07:04:22) : brother if you die will any body will come in your grave

Quod Sum Eris (07:04:46) : Yes

    AzizIn (07:04:35) : awnser me

    AzizIn (07:04:37) : who

Quod Sum Eris (07:04:56) : I ust did

Quod Sum Eris (07:05:45) : Oh sorry, I misread it. I thought you said TO by grave, not in. Though there are families who share graves. My uncle, grandfather and grandma share a grave

AzizIn (07:05:41) : do they will kill themselfs for your sake

Quod Sum Eris (07:06:02) : Sorry about the typos

Quod Sum Eris (07:06:38) : Yes. As I said, my mother will give her life for me with no promise of reward. She belies when she dies, that's it. And she'd still do it.

Quod Sum Eris (07:06:47) : *believes

Quod Sum Eris (07:07:09) : How can a just merciful god send them to hell?

AzizIn (07:06:54) : i said will you commit sucide for her

Quod Sum Eris (07:07:47) : If the situation warrents it

AzizIn (07:08:33) : brother its the way the life test

AzizIn (07:08:47) : no body is responsible for any body

Quod Sum Eris (07:09:12) : That's not the point

AzizIn (07:08:56) : i carry my own actions

Quod Sum Eris (07:09:17) : We all do

AzizIn (07:09:07) : no body will committ suicide for me

AzizIn (07:09:15) : this world moves on

AzizIn (07:09:19) : with out me

AzizIn (07:09:28) : i am the only one goes alone

Quod Sum Eris (07:09:48) : I understand that. But while
     we live we matter

AzizIn (07:09:38) : and i will be alone after death

AzizIn (07:09:45) : no body will come

Quod Sum Eris (07:10:03) : If an afterlife is real then we matter forever

AzizIn (07:09:56) : so prepare yourself now

AzizIn (07:10:06) : i invite you to islam

    AzizIn (07:10:11) : just forget

AzizIn (07:10:19) : do not get confuse

    AzizIn (07:10:24) : Allah says

AzizIn (07:10:43) : 41:53. We will show them Our Signs in the universe, and in their ownselves, until it becomes manifest to them that this (the Qur'an) is the truth. Is it not sufficient in regard to your Lord that He is a Witness over all things? AL Quran

Quod Sum Eris (07:11:15) : How can I come to islam with all this in my head? It would be dishonest. I don't even know if allah is god or J
esus is god or Ball is god or if ANY of the gods of human religion even exist?

AzizIn (07:11:03) : Allah bring you here to spaek

AzizIn (07:11:15) : its Allah mercy to guide you

Quod Sum Eris (07:11:33) : But he won't bring my loved ones. Nice god you have

AzizIn (07:11:26) : you need to take it with free will

Quod Sum Eris (07:11:51) : Nothing happens except by Allah's will

AzizIn (07:11:35) : may Allah guide you to truth

AzizIn (07:11:48) : brother i need to go now

    AzizIn (07:11:52) : sorry

Quod Sum Eris (07:12:12) : I do not believe, if allah is real, that we have free will, for reasons I've already stated

Quod Sum Eris (07:12:15) : Sigh

Quod Sum Eris (07:12:19) : Well thanks anyeway

Quod Sum Eris (07:12:22) : *anyway

Quod Sum Eris (07:13:02) : Again, nothing to do with what I said. But thanks I guess. Hope you have a good day.

AzizIn (07:12:52) : No Compulsion in relegion
18:29. And say: "The truth is from your Lord." Then whosoever wills, let him believe, and whosoever wills, let him disbelieve. Verily, We have prepared for the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.), a Fire whose walls will be surrounding them (disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah). And if they ask for help (relief, water, etc.) they will be granted water like boiling oil, that will scald their faces. Terrible the drink, and an evil Murtafaqa (dwelling, resting place, etc.)! AL QURAN

AzizIn (07:13:21) : May Allah protect you from all the evils. May Allah help you in all your good intentions and good deeds. Ameen.

Quod Sum Eris (07:13:43) : Most of the people I know aren't polytheists. Again, this has nothing to do with what I asked

Quod Sum Eris (07:13:58) : Thanks anyway

Quod Sum Eris (07:14:15) : I'd rather be with my family than Allah's heaven. Good bye

I'm more thinking of the irrational fear of hell and whatnot that can make a person blind to wharever flaws and bs you come across while reading up on Islam. If you're born into Islam, you're indoctrinated with this from birth basically. If you're a convert you fall for the hell-thingy and that's it, you don't know much about Islam except "tawheed" and some convincing dawaganda. And then there's me who saw through Islam for what it was very early ob (reading my old diary where I said that Islam is just bs and allah obviously hates women), but my fear of hell and the strong need to feel loved drove me into it anyway. I would say I'm the biggest idiot either way Smiley

iERA isn't exactly full of intellectuals. It was obvious he had no idea how to answer what I asked, which is fucking amazing. You'd think that'd be one of the first things they teach in dawah 101.
