     OP - February 19, 2014, 07:16 PM

**Calling all Ex-Muslims in Britain to participate in a research study concerning Ex-Muslim identity**

This study will explore the construction of the Ex-Muslim identity and how this marginal and stigmatised identity is negotiated in your lived experiences. The researcher is looking for participants who are willing to take part in a focus group or one-to-one interviews. Your participation in this study will shed light on the reasons why the Ex-Muslim identity is adopted by you and the implications this has on you, and your wider social interactions.

The researcher is a social sciences student and this study has received Ethical approval from a University of London.

If you are interested please immediately contact Halima on halimalyne@gmail.com for more details and to arrange the interview/details of the focus group.

The identity of all participants will be protected and anonymised for the study.

    Thank you.  Smiley

Can a moderator verify this or it come straight from Myriam Namazie?

I think you'll pardon the reluctance considering the circumstance.

    I'd be willing.

I can assure you this is completely safe.  It has also been posted on the CEMB Facebook page by the admins.  I am sure one of the moderators here will be happy to vouch for it. Smiley

Hopefully a mod can verify this soon, but for what it's worth, I have met the researcher in person and I trust she will be genuine in her research and in protecting the identities of participants. I am an admin on the CEMB Facebook page btw Smiley

This is endorsed by the Council of Ex Muslims of Britain.

We ask that if you can, please help this project.

    It is very important.

We have big plans for the future on how to get the Exmuslim voice mainstream.

Projects like this are essential to changing Britain for the better in the awareness of the apostasy issues and the lives of Exmuslims now and for future generations of Exmuslims.

Well, with that endorsement I'm up for it.  Afro

I hope that you understand why I was being cautious.

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'
