Hello all, I've been viewing this forum for a while so after a while, I finally decided to create an account.

My reason for leaving Islam is probably the same as most of you. Despite what some apologists say, Islam and science are completely incompatible - concepts like Jinn, virgin birth, splitting of the moon have no evidence (and have evidence against it) and other scientific theories refute ideas made in the Quran. This incompatibility combined with the general barbarism found in sharia law made me leave.

I am currently in my A2 studying the sciences and math with the intention of going to university to study physics (specifically theoretical physics) in the UK.

`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

    Hi there Descent  Smiley

Good to have you here. As I'm in your country of bacon of choice I present you this piggy as a gift piggy

Not that I don't like parrots! But the Norwegians have a kind of the market for the Norwegian Blue.

Interestingly, I have a hard time eating pork despite having left religion a while ago. I guess when your told your whole life something is wrong, it really sticks.   Cry  Its a shame because everyone I know (who are non-Muslim of course) says bacon is wonderful.

Depends what kind of bacon, what kind of sausage. Some are better than others.

I personally find pork pies washed down with sweet tea to be heavenly. 001_wub

    Welcome mate!!

Best of luck with your A-levels.

I am currently doing the same subjects as you - but I have applied for Medicine instead - like a typical Pakistani - lol.

May I ask for your uni options?

I agree with you 100 percent mate. When I used to be a Muslim I never used to believe in the theory of evolution - but instead I used to acknowledge all of these ambiguous qu'ranic miracles which these dawah missionaries boast about. For me - studying the theory of evolution in Bio AS unit 2 definitely had a profound impact - and it was a major stepping stone to rationality. I am currently reading The Selfish Gene - the very book I used to despise a few years back!
