     far away hug

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

I've been told not to take drugs. But I would like to smoke weed, at least once.

It's a little cliche and kind of morbid, but the good old "memento mori" has served me well: remember that one day you will die.

It has a way of putting everything in balance for me. I get more motivated to do the things I enjoy while I still have time, and it also puts bad events into perspective.

    I like.

Yup. That one is very handy. Nothing like being aware of mortality to make you feel alive.

As for advice, live life by one motto: Hakuna matata!

Never really knew until the last year or so, just how true this advice was.

Life really is better as you get older. For all I have railed against aging and losing those chances at love that everyone tells me is just what happens to women past a certain age, I find, like I was told, that it no longer matters as much anymore.

I find with age, I have become more stable, less emotional, happier, calmer even.  Life in my own mind, really does feel better.

So yea, don't be scared to age, it really does feel better than I thought it would.

Inhale the good shit, exhale the bullshit.

"The best business deal is one when all is said and done, both parties feel like they got over on each other."

Said to me by a guy who paid me 50 bucks an hour in cash one summer to sort boxes in the back of a truck when I was like 14.

Woah, $50.00 an hour to sort boxes?

I got pretty much the exact opposite advice once. An old landlord said to me, "I think the sign of a fair compromise is when both people are unhappy."

Yeah. I'm pretty certain now that there was something illegal going on, which is comforting given the fact that my finger prints were all over the boxes. But I wasn't complaining with that much money at that age. I actually used it to buy my first car - 6 months before I could get a permit. Grin

Oh my goodness. I cannot believe you couldn't smell something illegal was going on. You did not get out much at fourteen, I suspect.
