There is some of that in there. It just depends what you are looking for. I've read a fair amount on secular ethics and being moral in a godless world. Consider this a light read.

Oh. I thought it was a 'how to be an atheist in a cruel and meaningless world' sort of book.

Now I'm not gonna read it Tongue

Yep, that's what I gathered from the title too.

    Strange review on Amazon!

    Quote
I think readers would be happy to be informed that this book is the re-release of a book originally published 42 years ago, in 1970 (ASIN B007U7SMQA) and is not in fact a brand new title.

Intro pages of book on Amazon are wonderful!

'An atheist handbook' sounds all wrong to me. It is going along the lines of believers saying you can't have morals without religion and as if atheïsm has a set of rules to follow...

Isn’t Samira Ahmed a muslim? Not that I’m saying muslims shouldn’t be allowed, but it did surprise me… And I absolutely adore AC Grayling.

Maybe Samira Ahmed is an agnostic, atheist, or just a liberal Muslim engaging with the issues? She's a good journalist, I like her. Although Krishnan rules Channel 4 News, sorry Samira.

I've variously heard her referred to as having a Muslim background and being raised as a Muslim, but I've never heard her clarify the point. She's an excellent journalist and an incredibly smart individual. I never finished watching Islam Unveiled (a Chan 4 Dispatches documentary) but, whilst I recall thinking it was generally good, she did engage a little in the "{insert bad thing associated with Islam} isn't in the Koran, so it's not actually anything to do with Islam" fallacy. If I remember correctly she tried this with stoning, but I'd have to rewatch. She quit Channel 4 a while back, works mostly for BBC Radio 4 now AFAIK.

Seems like Samira is a questioning Muslim to me.

Looks like an interesting read too.

A good article here by Samira Ahmed

Samira Ahmed's short film on ex-Muslims is now on iplayer and is worth watching. I think it's only viewable in the UK but maybe someone will put it up on youtube.
