     OP - October 11, 2011, 09:24 PM

    Hey Peace guys,

Quite a few individuals have told me to join this Forum and finally I've come to it. I am not from the UK though, I live the States.  After having left Islam this year, in May 2011, I decided to claim Agnosticism as my philosophical perspective. As a debater/apologist I engaged in academic discussions with notable Christian scholars/apologists such as David Wood, Nabeel Qureshi, Tony Costa, Sam Shamoun, Dr. James White and others. My debates from the time I was Muslim are available online. Currently, I am an author/contributor to Faith Freedom International (another ex-Muslim reach out website) and my articles can be found here:

    faithfreedom.org/author/farhan-qureshi/

    My YouTube channel is here:

    youtube.com/user/orthodox786  ....

In a nutshell, the reason I left Islam was after my education in Psychology and work in Mental Health I realized that the doctrine of Hell was absolutely unjust one and that if God/Allah is capable of allowing an infinite torture for finite actions and/or processing information/concepts/theology the wrong way, then such a deity by definition would be Evil. I could no longer believe that so many wonderful and beautiful people, many who are products of their circumstances, should be judged this way.

I can only appreciate forums and reach out programs such as CEMB which become places of support and comfort for ex-Muslims enduring this major life transition. Thank You CEMB.

Thanks again everyone for the kind welcome. Appreciate it. Kartoos, sure I'll add my Bio to that section sometime later tonight. Yeezevee, I am Pakistani by descent so I was born and raised in a Muslim family. What I mean was when I was a Muslim i engaged in debates with Christian apologists.  Those debates I had when I was Muslim are still available online as a testament to my faith for all of those years.

Hey Farhan, great to meet you. Wonderful opening post! Do the people in your life know about your apostasy? You seem pretty open about it (I presume your avatar shows you).

EDIT — Incidentally, found this link about you: http://www.answeringmuslims.com/2011/05/farhan-qureshi-renounces-islam.html Makes for very interesting reading! Afro I must confess I laughed at one poster’s response that he hoped you’d turned to Christianity.

Daffi, I don't think I want to share too much information in terms of my whereabouts, there are some crazy Muslims out there who are willing to do anything. Yeezevee and Kodanshi, yeah I'm familiar with those articles/links .... in terms of Christianity ... thanks but no thanks.

I'm probably not the only one curious, but what do your family and friends think about your decision? I naturally assume that they know about it since it seems to be there out in the open.

Hi, Farhan, Welcome to the forum. I've read all of your articles for FaithFreedom and your YouTube videos, but you didn't talk about the reaction of your parents to your apostasy (presuming they know). If you don't want to talk about it, fair enough, but it would be interesting to hear about it.

I'll continue to watch your videos and have subscribed, but I won't be reading any more articles that are posted on FaithFreedom because I couldn't consciously send traffic to such a bigoted, hate-filled site.
