Forgive me, I only watched the first couple of minutes of the first video of Maajid Nawaz, the bit where he talks about 'Narrative'. Something about the Muslims believing the West are waging war against Islam. And?
Who radicalised them to believe so, undoubtedly, the West. Not only did they engineer the rise of Islamic Fundamentalism as a successful fighting force by their support of the Mujahideen in Afghanistan, Osama Bin Laden et al which in turn aided and abetted Israel's utilisation of Hamas (hamas being used as a counterweight against the PLO (secular)) to turning the Palestinian struggle into an islamic one.
I say that prior to eighties, the struggle of the palestinian people could be seen through your everyday - oi somebody has nicked our land, rather than a struggle of Al something against the Al something else, clash of Muslims v Them.
Likewise the current WOT, involving Iraq and Afghanistan is not war against Islam it rather -oi somebody is trying to tie up and tap energy resources ( and doing so by spreading death and destruction.) Which is valid. Look at what the Americans did to South America in the fifties/sixties/seventies etc, they want hedgemony of sorts. That's why they were in Afghnaistan first, to fight the spread of Russian hedgemony of sorts.
So just because the fundamentalist think that it is a war against islam doesnt mean that there ISN'T a war going on. A bit like just because your paranoid, doesn't mean that they aren't after you.
Or one the hand, there is a reason to think it is a war against Islam. Islam is very impervious to consumerism and capitalism. The secular religion etc, you know Dollar is God. To break down the idea of islam will pay dividends in the future. A market of 1.5 billion. Islam owns fantastic real-estate, imagine all the beach resorts and tourism resorts they could open up along the coasts. And all those people who are denied street-level debt. Big Market. Oh I forgot to add the women (and some men) who wouldn't feel so bad appearing in porn. Big market.
I am my own worst enemy and best friend, itsa bit of a squeeze in a three-quarter bed, tho. Unhinged!? If I was a dog I would be having kittens, that is unhinged. Footloose n fancy free, forced to fit, fated to fly. One or 2 words, 3 and 3/thirds, looking comely but lonely, till I made them homely.D
