Arabic and other languages may be more expressive than English (even though English has the biggest vocabulary ever), but they are certainly not more logical... English is perfect for a second language since it's grammar is pretty easy and logical.. The only problem in english is the spelling... Slavic languages, Albanian etc write the way they speak and there is nothing left to the imagination like in english (Knight, Night, Drought, neighborhood etc)

Anyhoo, I agree with the use of Islamic (Arabic) terminology, as for one thing, Islam is loaded with it, and in many cases, in order to know what any given passage of Islamic literature is saying, you need to be down with the linguo. It's frequent usage allows one to become better acquainted with it.

Infact, the majority of the people doesn't even CARE about WHY we exist, what there purpose/meaning is. They just eat, work, sleep, reproduce, and are more interested in finding friends/what's on telly tonight, and other simple stuff.

The Universe couldn't care less if we would blow ourselves up.

I would love there to be a meaning to life. Right now I see none. Let me know if you find one.

The question of meaning is one that plagues the resurrection-men too. Consider that if a meaningful existence can only be externally conferred, that is to say if one needs another being to imbue one's life with significance, the question arises what is God's object in life? Who gives him purpose? By that train of thought, God's life is empty as a seashell. But if as the godless maintain, that significance may be internally derived, the problem is resolved.

The question of a grand cosmic purpose is independent of whether a Skydaddy sits above the clouds. Even granting his existence, man still has to ground his existential quest in something quite other than God. Have you read Bertrand Russell's essay: A Free Man's Worship? A meditation on the object of life in a cosmos boundlessly vast in which man shall wander but a moment and, wearied and fatigued, finally to perish. Unbeatable.

The tacit assumption here is that meaning can only be conferred by an external agent, that a man can't derive purpose internally from within. If so, the question is who confers purpose on God's life? By that token, nobody. So God's life is void of meaning.

It is transparent that a resurrection-man cannot accept that conclusion, a conclusion grounded upon the principle that significance may only be externally derived. So the faithful, like the Eternally Damned, are left to quest for meaning independently of God. His existence has no bearing on the question of the life well lived.

nah jingiz died a heathen... his offspring that was in Islamic regions got Muslim but those that remained in China and Mongolia continued Animism/Buddhism/Taoism/Confucianism

To live, I think. Does it really have to have a purpose? We try and make sense of things because we're scared of the unknown. Maybe some things just don't make sense?

I think the only purpose to life is the purpose you apply to it. I don't believe there is some cosmic destiny godly purpose to it, just what you make of it.

if you think your purpose is to procreate and leave mini yous behind then that is your purpose, if it's to leave a legacy of change behind, make your mark on the world, be written in history, that is your purpose.

My purpose is to just keep on living, keep on trying, not even to leave my mark on the world, but to leave a positive mark on my children and hopefully find a sense of inner peace before I bow out of here.

I think it's hugely important to have a purpose in life, not that it has to be the same for everybody. The hard thing is figuring out that purpose and direction that would make you the happiest/content with your life. I think for some the purpose becomes a default though they don't even realise it, for others it changes and some lose it etc.

I think children are happy, in the general, because they don't look for purpose, but when you get older and become part of the bigger society without having a sense of purpose it can become an overwhelming place.
